That coin-op Batmobile was badass. Walt should have ponied up for that one.

Exactly what I was thinking. That is an incredibly rare item and would have been a great attraction for a comic book shop. Every kid for miles would have been interested to give it a whirl.

It would have been a good price if the machine didn't work. Walt balking at a functioning one was a mind-boggling decision.

I also thought it was hilarious that he thought he'd never earn his money back at $5k. I can see him counting the quarters. This was an item to draw people in, and maybe they buy something not a revenue generating machine.

Anyone notice that Mike Colter asked for the first issue where Luke Cage and Iron Fist met, and Walt gave him Power Man #50? The thing is, that's the first issue with Power Man and Iron Fist on the cover, but #48 was actually the first issue they met.

I couldn’t put my finger on it but something did seem off about that.

Walt mentioned something to that extent in the episode.

I like the flow of this show with no gimmicks and the focus solely on collectables.

I have that Justice League Annual.

I got it as a freebie from one of the mail order back issue places I bought from in the 80s when I was a kid. "Free comic book with every order!"

How does the Secret Stash compared to other comic book store?

Anything that makes it special or stand out from the rest (bigger selection?) or just that it is owned by Kevin Smith and featured in a tv series?

I’m also not a fan of these types of episodes are they are just plain stupid.

I've been fast forwarding through about 3/4 of each episode. Skip right past the gimmicks. It's so annoying. I enjoy the parts about the collectibles enough that I still DVR it.

I too prefer the buying/selling of collectibles, as it often provides a lot of backstory about them (this is the first appearance of such-and-such, or, only 1000 of these were ever made, etc). But I can see why they have to do the gimmicks, as it's probably the only way they can get people like Lloyd Kaufman to appear (trivia: Lloyd's brother Charles, who directed the sleazy 1980 film Mother's Day, owns a very popular bakery in my city)

Once they got to the dog costume contest a few weeks ago I just deleted it. I didn't even bother fast forwarding.

The Troma thing was extremely stupid, but the double dose of cleavage helped the time pass.

Before watching this show it never occurred to me to negotiate a price for a comic book at a comic book store.

I wonder if this bothers other comic book stores.

I think most people have been aware of negotiating comic book prices since they first entered the store, whenever that was.

I was probably 11 or 12 when I first haggled the price of a back issue down. It was one of those Justice League issues where they meet the Justice Society.

Ugh. The Pez storyline was so obviously staged it’s laughable.

if that Pez was real and Walt got 12 or 15K for it I would have been pissed.

I don't think a genuine moment has occurred on this show since the first episodes. Like all reality TV, it's heavily produced and staged.

I did enjoy seeing the Pez museum.

So was Walt in on the fact that he had a fake Pez dispenser? Or did someone set him up with it and allow him to think it might be real?

Pez was huge when I was a kid growing up in the 80's, as I'm surprised that there is still a demand for it these days? I didn't know kids still bought Pez Dispensers, as that factory was pumping out millions of pez a day.

I still see Pez candy in some stores, so someone is buying it.

It seems that the guy who brought the collection of silver age comics did not get a fair deal for the Spider-Man issue with the debut of Kingpin and Creeper #1.

Their Funko Pop figures look much cooler than the actual guys.

I don’t get the funko pop vinyl figures.

The guy who came in to sell his comics, that’s on him if someone doesn’t due their research on value before trying to sell.

liked the peak inside Funko HQ. Probably the closest I will get to visiting myself.
