Game of Thrones is head and shoulders above anything else that has appeared on tv in the last decade.

Anybody who disagrees is a doodoohead.

What, no love for the Celtic Thunder specials aired during PBS donation drives?

Surprised that Hell On Wheels hasn't gotten much attention. It's derivative but the execution is awesome, and the show is getting better each week.

Would post a list but wouldn't be fair since I haven't seen latest seasons of several old favorites (Breaking Bad, Fringe, Big Bang Theory, and didn't see Spartacus: Gods of the Arena).

Would include these: Boardwalk Empire, Homeland, Walking Dead, Strike Back (guilty pleasure), Sons of Anarchy, Justified. Normally would include Dexter & True Blood, but I was a little disappointed by the current seasons (they might still make the list).

On a 'worst' list, I've have Camelot near the top...not because it was terribly awful but because it fell so short of expectations and was a huge disappointment.

Off the top of my head, in no particular order:

Boardwalk Empire
Justified
The League
Archer
Louie
Modern Family
Damages
Futurama
The Borgias
Rake
Beavis & Butthead

Just shows how shitty broadcast TV is now.

Game of Thrones
Community
Louie
It's Always Sunny in Philly
Beavis and Butthead
Stargate SGU (really started to hit it's stride at the end)

Still waiting to get caught up on Homeland, Futurama, Parks and Rec, but I'm sure they'd make my list.

I don't even watch enough TV to have a top 10, but if I had rank in order of the shows I do watch it would look like this:

1. Game of Thrones
2. The League
3. New Girl
4. The Walking Dead
5. Raising Hope
6. Grimm
7. Wilfred
8. House
9. Louie
10. True Blood

Plan on watching Homeland soon.

I can't think of anything that it is similar too - which is why it is so damn good. It has crackling suspense even when it moves at a slower pace.... just a showcase of terrific acting and really interesting and intense characters. Believe the hype.

Might have to jump on Breaking Bad, Makes it easier if the Wife also likes the show, since we have so little time together as it is, I need to find things we both like (Right now we are watching about 2 episodes of Dexter a night)

I finished season 2 the other night and agree 100% with this. This and Homeland feel like the 2 shows where it seemed like the writers/creators had most everything figured out before hand (and not like 24 and sometimes lost where it seemed like they were making shit up as they went along)

Funny, considering the writers/creators of 24 are the writers and creators of Homeland.

So why don't you post your Top 10 from 2011.

This is no rhyme or reason here, it's everyone's own personal favorite list from this year.

I wouldn't pay much attention to this person. They're a new member and have made over 30 posts in the past hour. Expect some spam in the near future followed by a ban.

My rankings, and haven't gotten through Season 3 of Breaking Bad and haven't finished Homeland yet.

1. Community
2. Game of Thrones
3. Parks and Rec
4. Justified
5. Revenge
6. Happy Endings
7. Modern Family
8. Fringe
9. New Girl
10. The Walking Dead

Happy Endings was our most recent discovery. Had heard initially it wasn't that good but we caught up on the show over the last few weeks and loved every second of it. Though seeing how out of order everything aired during Season 1, I'm not surprised it's been a bit of a slow burn. But my wife laughed harder at a joke on that show than I've ever heard her laugh at pretty much anything else the other night.

It's a original show that aired on Cinemax. It's like 24 but with language, sex and blood.

Probably one of the best serialized action shows ever. It was on Cinemax this past summer. There are threads for all 10 episodes

 @ people who have never heard of Strike Back.

Although I'd probably have Breaking Bad, Modern Family, Justified and Southland on there (in place of the "reality" shows) but I'm still a season or two behind each on Blu-ray.
