Corrected. Hell..the fact that it has more than one capable actor on the cast makes that a fact. ;)

I know that this is my favorite new drama, probably the best drama on television, and the cast all around is perfect, but every week that I've watched this I've marveled at how powerful Claire Danes has been in her role. I really thought, as talented as she is, that she might have been miscast, but now I REALLY don't want to wait for the Emmys to see if she's rewarded.

I'd like to see her and the show get rewarded at the Globes and SAGs. I just wonder if the show is getting enough attention outside of the bubble of the people who are just watching Showtime or who are used to Dexter being the best show on that network.

The entire show gets my heart racing like nothing else on television and that interrogation scene was played so perfectly that I don't care if "maybe" Carrie would have asked about Brody. I loved that you'd think the guy would have caved when they said they'd out him as a homosexual. Then when he acted like he didn't care, I was shocked and thought they'd lose him as an informant, only for them to go and threaten to make sure his daughter's life was ruined. It was so cruel, yet easy for them to do and it felt real.

I would be shocked if this doesn't get automatic nominations for best actor (Damian Lewis), best actress (Claire Danes) in a drama plus of course Best drama. I think those 3 categories are almost a given.

I would hope, but the Globes are foreign writers and we know how other countries feel about our actions regarding these matters. Typically, they're not fond of them and they could penalize this show.

I think that would be too obvious for this show.

They can't be setting Brody up to be just a suicide bomber, right? Though I guess he'd be a GREAT way to get close to the Vice President/President to blow them up, I was just hoping that Brody would be around in future seasons because he's such a great character.

Spoiler:
I don't think so. I think they have bigger plans for him, trying to change policy rather than just kill the VP. He has already been next to him twice, and alone with him just this week. He could have snapped his neck right then if that was the goal.

Isn't she also bipolar or have something like that? I think that could of explained her getting overtly upset.

I think that's what she's got, if not something similar.

-eek-

Holy shit! That was awesome. 10 for 10

That scene in Farragut Square was absolutely riveting. I shocked that Walker used the decoy as a suicide bomber to kill Al Zahrani. The aftermath of the explosion was pretty shocking, especially seeing the guy with his leg blown off.

Loved the interrogation scene earlier in the episode with Carrie and Saul against Al Zahrani. Loved Danes performance in that scene and how Carrie took charge.

Al Zahrani: "I love to suck cock, yum yum yum"

I'm reallly curious to see who the mole is.

If your not watching this show, you are sorely missing out.

I agree. I've always wondered why a low-level operative like him was getting so much air time. Being the mole would explain this.

I like how Carrie convinced the Saudi guy to talk. And looks like she has a thing for Brody -- interesting to see how this plays out.

I like that it was based on his love of his daughter and her freedom vs. outing him for being gay. They've done a really good job of humanizing the terrorists on the show and not just making them all "DEATH TO AMERICA BECAUSE YOU ARE FREE" bullshit.

Because the show is shot in Charlotte, NC and they are faking Washington DC there with some props and stock footage.

Guys, no way Detective Billings is the mole. He's not in the CIA and didn't have access to the guard to give him the razor blade.

Yep, I finally recognized something! I believe it was shot in Marshall Park in Uptown Charlotte.
I also found out that Angie Harmon lives in Charlotte also. I'll have to keep an eye out. ;)

I LOL'ed at that scene but my wife, who was seated besides me, didn't thought it was THAT funny.

One of the reasons I bailed on Dexter after season 2.

I know it's shot in Charlotte. But if it's not going to look like Farragut Square, why not just make up the name of a place in DC that doesn't actually exist? As far as I can tell, there's no Van Buren Park in DC. They could have just made up that fictitious name, filmed it anywhere and I don't think it would have been nearly as distracting.

The first episode, they filmed Brody jogging on the mall, in front of the Capitol. They wouldn't film that scene in front of the North Carolina Capitol in Raleigh and pretend it was the US Capitol in DC, would they? Obviously, Farragut Square isn't as recognizable as the US Capitol, but it does exist in real life and the park in Charlotte didn't even look close.

No, that was definitely the Capitol. Usually they will send a 2nd Unit to shoot some exteriors and minor scenes like Brody jogging in front of major buildings and landmarks. I'm not from the East coast and have only been to DC once many years ago, but I assume they think Farragut Square isn't a highly recognizable area to people from out of State.

A good example would be 24's 7th season, which also took place in Washington DC. The majority of the season was shot in Los Angeles, but they sent a 2nd Unit and Kiefer Sutherland to Washington DC for 1 week to shoot some exteriors and scenes that featured him.

How did Brody's wife know that he slept with Carrie - did I miss something?

Had the same reaction. Assumed I just missed something as well.

I don't think she knew for sure. I think she suspected. When she said that and Brody didn't deny it, well now she certainly does know. Women are sneaky like that. Always deny. Rookie mistake Brody.
