'X-Factor' Judges Paula & Nicole Targeted by Death Threats After Eliminating Drew

If this were a story about Astro's fans doing the same thing, I could only imagine the commentary.

I'm surprised at the backlash about dropping Drew. She wasn't good. She was never able to hold her pitch during her performances, something even Paula Abdul was able to do back in the day if she was standing still like Drew's boring stage presence.

That week Drew sang the "Skyscraper" song I was in awe that my tv speaker's didn't break when she tried to hit the same notes Demi Lavoto does. Yikes.

To me it is evident that the final two in the competition will be Josh and Melanie so it doesn't really matter... Drew, Marcus, etc. will all be eliminated shortly anyway.

Is "I hope you die" really considered a death threat these days?? Sounds more like a Death Wish to me.

I really liked how Drew took common songs and made her own twist on them. It was both original and refreshing.

As far as her going home, I did not have her placed to win this competition anyway. You currently have two powerhouse singers in Josh and Melanie to compete with.

It's all about the josh v melanie show now... with Kiddie Crow being the true x-factor in what could put a crimp...
the rest is fodder..

TVLine Stacy Francis interview

I thought this was a pretty good interview about learning to find herself as an artist as well as addressing some of the flack over her background as a performer.

This is the main problem of the show. They build up the judges as superstars then cut them off at the knees when they start to speak because they don't know how to produce the show. They gives up filler and bore us for an hour then rush the best part. It's ridiculous. The host is extremely annoying and I'm betting he will NOT be back next season. Hell, I don't think L.A. Reid should be back. Most of his decisions are race-based.

Drew will be fine. She will sell a ton of CD's. If they still make CD's that is...

All 4 judges make subjective calls that incorporate their biases. Any particular reason LA's race-based bias is any more notable than, for instance, Simon's sex-based bias?

That said, I don't think LA's bias is race-based at all. I think he likes a certain type of music. Given the music sells (Kanye has more nominations this year than Adele), why shouldn't it be represented?

A certain segment of the populace will just not be happy until this show is a carbon copy of the narrow segment of music already delivered by American Idol. Thank goodness AI started to open things up this past season. As J.Lo said, we can have a Pop Idol, Jazz Idol, Gospel Idol, Country Idol, Rock Idol, Heavy Metal Idol. She left out Rap/Hip-Hop but ... baby steps. I'd rather see AI become more like X Factor in that regard than vice versa.
