I couldn't resist ... I clicked. Even though the spoilers gave away plot points, the episode was still pretty damn good and the reveal was no less powerful.

If only they would deliver this caliber of show on a regular basis.

Shane is insane. He's gotta die soon.

Wow, murdering innocent people, and people who are trying to help you, to further your own agenda. You wouldn't last long.

I'm always amazed at the immaturity shown by grown adults when they actually have the audacity to support Shane's actions. I guess at this point the human race shouldn't surprise me anymore, though.

That was a really powerful scene. I loved the group's reaction to see Rick and Herschel bringing out two walkers on sticks. And Shane repeatedly shooting the female. He was intense, and maybe a little nuts.

You could almost feel Herschel and his family's pain at watching the slaughter of what used to be their kin. I wonder if he's going to let them stay now.

Goodbye Sophia. Your absence was starting to get annoying, but we finally have closure. Now Jamie Lee Curtis can find comfort with Darryl.

don't forget the attempted sexual assault at the CDC. Shane needs to go off on his own like he says and take Andrea with him.

I think you are finding the point ... the world has changed and it changes the people left in it.

Thanks, Dale, but I think you made that same point far more eloquently in the actual episode.

Re: The Walking Dead -- Midseason Finale -- "Pretty Much Dead Already" -- 11/27/11

The person who spoiled the last two episodes has come back with spoilers for the remaining six episodes:

Spoiler:
AMC leak here.

Told you ****.

Also just a little sneak at the other half of the season:

Carol let's zombie kill her
Hershel tries to let zombies kill him
Daryl is almost killed off (multiple times)
Shane mans the fuck up, taking over rick's spot as Alpha dog
Last episode of the season is a shocker.

To be entirely honest, when I left, the second half of the show wasn't finished. I did get to see the scripts, and was on set for a few scenes.

The shocker is not shane dying.

I will reveal the season finale shocker in feb. Let you fuckers stew.

Did I mention that was posted on 4chan?

Spoilers #1 and 2 happen in the comics, however:
Spoiler:
Carol lets zombies kill her after getting denied a threesome from Rick and Lori in the comics, I shit you not.

And if Spoiler #4 is true, that means Shane will take on the Tyrese role in the show.

I'm curious if the writers will ...
Spoiler:
... cover the Prison / Governor storyline, and if so, if they'll clean house by killing a majority of the characters off a la the comics.

I love how some of you are so quick to justify psychopathic behavior, as if all morals are off the table as soon as the living dead arrive. This is why I'm doing a Morgan and barricading myself in my house should a zombie apocalypse ever actually occur.

Can we please keep spoilers out of this thread? Start a second half spoilers thread if you must, but I'd like to be able to read this thread tomorrow.

Whoa, calm down there, Shane. I meant Otis, obviously. I mean, really? You couldn't figure that out? It was a pretty big plot point.

I can't justify either. Its easy to think about what we would or would not do before we would face something as dire as that.

That's a lovely cliche, but you know if you're the type of person to murder someone in cold blood to further your own agenda or not. If you're not sure, newsflash, you're more likely to be a Shane type of person.

To hell with you all. When the zombie apocalypse comes, I'm going to be like Daryl. I'm getting on a motorcycle, ride across the country and kill zombies!

... and that's why we need a Daryl spin-off.

Here in Alabama, it'll be a vacation for most if a zombie hell hits the world.

Terrific episode BTW. This season, IMO, has been an order of magnitude better than the first season, as decent as it was.

Well yeah, zombie killin' is a no-brainer. Otis killin' is another matter entirely.

In anti 2nd Amendment rights Chicago and Cook County, the zombies shall feast. Need to get out fast! Dale could run for office here.

They talked about that on Talking Dead. Hershel said in the episode that putting people in the barn was Otis's job. Otis never knew there was a little girl missing before Shane killed him. The farm people probably didn't know she was in there.

I think this season has been pretty boring. No comparison over the first season.
Hope Shane goes down soon.

Re: The Walking Dead -- Midseason Finale -- "Pretty Much Dead Already" -- 11/27/11

Great ending to this episode. That last sequence was nuts. I thought it was very emotional scene. For making Sophia MIA for the last 6 episodes, I'm glad they chose this route instead of a cheesy cliched reunion.

I was also happy to see some more character development with Glenn.

Shane has exemplified borderline psychotic behavior, but I agreed with him that they needed to get rid of the Walkers. This is a game of survival.

These 1st 7 episodes weren't perfect. I would probably give the 1st half of this season a B-. The Sophia arc bogged it down, but there was some good character development. I'm guessing the locations budget this season was slashed since they have spent so much time at that farm. The 1st season was only 6 episodes, but they filmed in so many locations around Atlanta.
