Re: Official Storage Wars Discussion
Just watched the latest Auction Hunters with Allen and Ton and at the end they had a In Memory of message up for 'Big Sis' who passed away recently.
She was featured as a worker (actress?) in their store.

New episodes starting up. They introduced some freak named Tiny, who looks about 350 pounds and ridiculously tattooed. Hester is not really in the game, though. Very weak comeback. The good news is Dan looks a lot smaller. Guess he's taking his health serious.

New episodes have been on for a while now. That "tiny" guy was in one episode.

Kinda strange how Hester doesn't seem to have any run left in him.

Yeah it's pretty much the Darrell show now although Ivy seems to be into it more. And I really wish they would do more with Brandi than have her play the nagging harridan.

Anyone see this evening's shows? I thought for sure Rene was going to have a heart attack. Fat boy needs to drop some poundage.

It's obviously easy to second guess these people while watching on TV, but I was fairly certain that locker would be worth a $5K gamble based on the stuff you could see. I was shocked that no one was willing to go higher than the $3,900 it took to buy it.

I just don't get how that guy "knows" how much all that stuff is even worth. Its almost as if most of those folks on that show are pulling prices out of their ass mostly.

Re: Official Storage Wars Discussion
They all pull prices out their asses. It's for the show. You ever see the shit they price, that you know is junk. Hester would say $200 on a table worth $20 at best. A lot of swap meet junk they say is top dollar.
I think the only people who put realistic prices on things were Jarrod and Brandy.

Mary isn't terribly attractive (but not unattractive) and has a totally annoying voice and mannerisms but i dunno, you just want to bend her over and give her a good seeing to

Sheets is threatening to pull a Hester.

The A&E hit show "Storage Wars" could lose one of its biggest stars ... because of guys who are younger, cheaper and hungrier.
Sources connected to "Storage Wars" veteran Darrell Sheets tell us the network is going to cut his pay in half, from around $30k an episode to $15k.
And there's more bad news for Sheets ... we're told he's slated to appear in only 4 of the show's 26 episodes. Sheets thinks the handwriting is on the wall -- he's being phased out so the network can put in new guys who will work for a lot less.
Our Sheets sources say he's willing to walk, because he's gotten offers to do other TV shows.
A rep from A&E tells TMZ they plan to go forward with the season, whether Darrell's a part of it or not.

When I first started watching Storage Wars I didn't like Darrell very much but he's grown on me. He is far cagier at the auction game than he lets on, I think a lot of his personality on the show is an act. I would miss him from the show.
This show is on its death bed, anyway. It is barely watchable with Barry gone.

Re: Official Storage Wars Discussion
Well I stopped by the store today as I was in Orange and chatted with a worker bee. No Brandi and Jarrod, as usual. Anyway, he said the Sheets story is dubious since Darryl threatens to quit every season.
What was more interesting was some info on Barry. Barry has always said he made his fortune in the produce business. Not true. His parents did. He was a trust fund kid. The closest thing he did to work was promotions for musicians and bands back in the 80s. Hence the pic of him with long hair and the cameos by Brad Whitford and Stewart Copeland. He did promo for Aerosmith and The Police way back when.
So when Barry talks about rolling in at 6 in the morning, he's not kidding. He's maintained that rock and roll lifestyle into his 60s and never had to work a formal, structured job where you had to show up at an early hour. He still lives that way and didn't like the early morning starts to the show. That's why everyone complained about him always being late. He held up shooting. That's why he's not interested in coming back to the show. He doesn't want to have to get up early and show up for the shoot on time.
Oh, and the show is renewed for 2 more seasons.

I got that feeling from Barry when I saw his parent's home in that one episode. He did seem like the nicest guy on the show, albeit with a lot of strange hobbies.

I'm getting tired of this new "cast" as well. Definitely miss Barry on storage wars.
And I agree about Daryl over valuing that locker of comics and toys. All those toys are too modern. Probably a few hits here and there but no way he would reach $91k. Especially the Kiss toys. Cory on pawn stars said it best, if it's made to be "collectible," then it's probably mass produced

I am done with the show until they get rid of Mary. I cannot stand that idiot and her spastic way of talking. I don't mind Ivy, although his Michelle Kwan obsession is a bit creepy, and I can tolerate the French German, but Mary is a total buzzkill.
