No comments about the napalm scene? I want to watch more flashbacks and find out what happened to the military.

What would the reasoning be for keeping a barn full of zombies?
Spoiler:
There have been little hints at that in various conversations on the show, so it will probably be for the same or similar reasons. |

Also really enjoyed the episode. The near-dialogue-less sequences with Darryl were riveting. Seriously, Reedus deserves an Emmy nod. And LOVE Rooker. That was a crafty way of bringing his character back and giving some great backstory on Darryl's character and motivations. I don't mind that that there isn't wall-to-wall zombie killing action. That to me would grow old far faster than those moments of character development so, you know, when the undead horde does arrive, I'll actually care about the fate of the victims (except Andrea who needs to die NOW). Only nitpick was the same one someone mentioned upthread: The shooting of Darryl was WAY too obvious. Had Andrea plugged T-Dog (who offers nothing to the show) in the back, I would have been far more surprised. |

Some speculation based on the books. Not really spoilery, but just in case...

Re: The Walking Dead -- "Chupacabra" -- 11/13/11
So a starving zombie sees a passed out/dead person laying there all for himself and he begins by starting to eat through his shoe? Gee, lucky for Daryl. -rolleyes-
How can they make Andrea that stupid? For reasons already mentioned, it's ridiculous. And Dale comforts her by saying "Don't be too hard on yourself... we all wanted to shoot Daryl" ? WTF? Bitch-slap some sense into her instead of coddling her. And Daryl seems to be the only character with any sense in the show. Can we go an episode without someone getting a major wound? T-Dog cuts his arm up deep, Carl gets shot and now Daryl gets an arrow through him and gets grazed with a bullet. I don't think Sophia is lost... she couldn't handle the writing and just took off. |
Re: The Walking Dead -- "Chupacabra" -- 11/13/11
Some of you must have the most worthless and empty lives to continuously watch a show and, week in and week out, berate the show for any and all reasons necessary. And don't start with the "I'm watching it, hoping it turns around" horse shit. We are nearly a season and a half deep, and this whole "I'm going to make a bulleted list of what is unbelievable/lame/lazy writing" has gotten so tiresome. I believe half the people who quit posting here finally stopped watching, and the other half got so sick and tired of hearing the same people constantly look and pry for stuff to gripe about.
That being said, this episode was probably one of my favorite this season. The show is not super-smart by an means, and is still trying to find its stride. Some of the writing is silly/lazy/weak, but the whole zombie apocalypse thing has kept me hooked. Hopefully the man and his son from Atlanta in the first season, along with Merle, do show up soon. And no, Andrea isn't lazy writing. It's called writing a stupid, dumb-as-rocks character who couldnt even kill herself the right way. She is constantly screwing up, and makes the worst decisions in the simplest of situations. She is a moron. An idiot. There is nothing to hate the writers for: they made us all hate her. And Dale, I hate him just as much. At this point I'd love to see Darryl and Shane just kick ass. Rick's "inner torment" stuff about anything and everything is getting on my nerves too. Geez, nut up. |
Re: The Walking Dead -- "Chupacabra" -- 11/13/11
Reading message after message about this show being boring makes me feel like a survivor in an ADD Apocalypse.
Good grief, this isn't a movie where they need to find a new place to stay every 20 minutes. I don't want every place they can stay at exhausted so fast that we barely see it and make the series end the quickest. How many episodes where they camped at that same spot in the first season? This the 4th episode we've seen the farm. And I suspect the zombies in the barn are going to break loose next episode or the one after that forcing them to get back on the road again. |

Anyone else think they're gonna pull a Killing and at the end of the season you STILL don't know what happened to the little girl?

I think it would be interesting if the group finally decided to move on and we never found out what happened to her. She just wandered off into the woods and disappeared. Some mysteries are never solved.

Re: The Walking Dead -- "Chupacabra" -- 11/13/11
So a few episodes ago people complained that T-Dog's injury was too minor, but the next episode they addressed that he had an infection. Now the complaints are that too many people are getting injured? On a show like this?

Looking back at your posting history on this show, you haven't liked a single episode. Watch something else. Move on with your life. Your posts are tiresome.
Posting issues with episodes isn't a big deal. I've actually grown tired of posts telling others to stop talking about issues with the show. I think it's time YOU move on with YOUR life and stop reading the threads as you can't seem to take criticism of a show you like. |

I think that's really interesting and it's also why I kind of wish Daryl had been killed. Just that finality of it, that reality of the situation hitting them. As it stands it feels like the show is playing it a little too safe imo, two characters have recovered from gunshots in a short period of time. I'd like to see more emphasis on danger and death. A little more realism. But I'm really enjoying the show. :) |

People will complain no matter what they do. If they are moving to a new place without being forced to because of being attacked by zombies, there would be crying why they didn't just stay where they were. There are already people crying that they have stayed at the farm way too long.
I, and many others, will continue to watch, and each week will continue to give our opinions. If you don't like it, feel free to add each of those people to your ignore list (which would be funny since you will lose 50%+ of the posts). This is a discussion on the episode. That includes lazy writing, stupid plots, bad acting etc. |

Not that this show is realistic at all, but I think that for people living in that situation, casual injuries/self inflicted injuries/violence amongst each other/etc would be a very real and scary threat. You have no ambulances, real doctors, good medicine. Twisting your ankle or getting the flu could mean the death of you.
I still find it odd how the characters are concerned about getting infected by the walkers and then do things that contradict it. Don't drink the water with the walker in it - but noone seems to mind that they're drenched in blood after killing them. Daryl's actions in this episode made me scratch my head. If infection is a worry - you probably shouldn't be wearing a neckless made of walker's ears around your neck. And why would Rick rip it off Daryl and put it in his shirt? Tossing it might be a better idea. |
Re: The Walking Dead -- "Chupacabra" -- 11/13/11
Actually yeah I was kind of wondering why Daryl was licking his fingers while eating the squirrel after punching that one zombie in the face. It was even more out of context when I was flipping channels and saw that scene while trying to figure out where AMC was during the 9 p.m. broadcast. I thought he went crazy or something!
On another note, I wonder how Monk would fare in this world. That would be some interesting television. |
