Read in EW this week that Claire Danes is on board for 6 seasons should it last that long. I can't see a story like this be compelling that long, but who knows.

Well, the show is called "Homeland", not "Brody's Turn", so they could be done with Brody's story this season, and move on to another domestic terrorist threat scenarios in subsequent seasons.

This show is to 24 what The Wire is to network police procedurals. The pacing is perfect.
Fantastic all around. Loved the scene with Carrie/Saul at Saul's place. I really love their interactions. Patinkin is awesome in this show.

If you didn't already know. Most of the writers/producers on this show used to work on 24. Also, the score is composed by Sean Callery, also formerly of 24.

It's really nice to see them take the themes and put them in a serious and realistically paced show instead of the comic book/video game that 24 was each week.

Loved last night's episode and, while I thought Danes was an excellent actress, I wasn't sure if she was right for this role. I'm wrong, especially after last night-especially that scene at Saul's. She really came off believable and strong.
I'd say this is the best show on television. I'm glad that it was so quickly renewed, but on cable, what does that mean? 6 months? A year? 18 months?
Hope the show wins at the Globes for best drama.

I just can't see the show getting rid of Damian Lewis after just one season. He is simply too damn good to let go.
I'm sure they can figure out a way to make it a last a little longer, hopefully without cutting down on the quality of the show, which is very high.

The tension created on this show is perfect.I agree that Claire Danes has been fantastic here. I see an Emmy nod in her future.
As for season 2... I don't see the need to continue with Brody either. As great as he has been this season this really is Claire Danes' show. I do hope they keep the Brody character around though, he's been terrific.
Surprised no one has brought up the idea that Saul is somehow involved. Not only was he also in the room with the terrorist but he also was praying at the end there. Considering that this comes from the writers of 24 the "there's a mole inside CTU" is a possibility.

Another fantastic episode this week. ^ Yeah, the thought crossed my mind about Saul as well with this episode. The whole cast is great in this show -- not too concerned if Brody doesn't last past this season (as great as Lewis has been).

A lot of stuff seems to point to Saul. He could have tipped off Faisel. He could have slipped the razor blade to with Brody's guard. He's constantly working against Carrie, which only makes her more and more obsessed with Brody, which is great misdirection if he wants to keep her away from the real plot going on under her nose.
Either the "prisoner of war being turned" was just misinformation to keep them away from the real plot, or it's Saul. You'll notice that it was mentioned that he was held prisoner for an extended period of time...

Please don't let Saul or any other CIA agent be a mole ala every season of 24.
This just in about Season 2:
Brody will not be main focus of next season but will be around for a 4 episode arc after Jessica wanders in their woods and gets caught in a bear trap. Apparently the dead deer's family is hell bent on revenge.

I wasn't paying 100% attention when it happened, but wasn't Saul praying in Hebrew? I ask 'cos the idea of a Jew betraying his religion, culture and country for Muslim extremists seems unthinkable to me.

Yeah, I think he was reciting the Mourner's Kaddish, which would seem to be sort of an odd thing to do for the death of a terrorist. I believe it's usually done for family members.

The closed captioning said it was Hebrew.
My only gripe is I wish they would get the stuff with his wife and Mike out of the way. His passive-aggressive interactions with both of them is getting tiresome.

IMO they need to keep Brody on the show as long as possible. If he leaves we won't see any more of his wife's boobies...
Mandy is a very good actor. I just hope the sight of blood doesn't make him run off again.
