I actually want Chuck to never get the intersect back. Just let him be competent on his own.

Maybe the whole season will be him wanting the intersect and the series finale will either have him getting it or showing him to be a super spy without it.

So I listened to Alan Sepinwall's podcast a couple of days ago and he said that he didn't even notice that Mark Hamill was in this, forgot about that point until this episode was almost over and realized I completely missed him also. What was he in the episode?

He was the bad guy at the beginning, during the pre-title sequence.

Re: Chuck -- Season Premiere -- "Chuck Versus the Zoom" -- 10/28/11

By now, it should be irrelevant whether Chuck gets the Intersect back, personally I don't care either way as long as the storyline is given a proper and satisfying ending.

Morgan becoming the Intersect, however, is just ridiculous and not in a good way. So if that's how they're gonna do this, then just about anyone from Buy More, from Jeff to Lester to the pimply faced nerd to the chubby kid, or even any random person could be a super spy as long as they have the Intersect...

Yeah, and it negates the whole premise from the first couple of seasons that Chuck's ability to absorb and use the Intersect is extremely rare. Remember when other people that tried got their brains fried? Now in the last couple of seasons people have been getting Intersects willy-nilly.

Although you both make valid points regarding it now being easy for anyone to get the intersect, it should be noted that Morgan was still a useless (albeit well meaning) screwup even with the intersect. So it's not like anyone could be a super spy just because they have the intersect.

Re: Chuck -- Season Premiere -- "Chuck Versus the Zoom" -- 10/28/11

I thought it was a pretty good opening episode. The TITS acronym was hilarious.

Yeah, I totally didn't recognize Mark Hamill as the bad guy in the 1st part of the episode.

I don't mind Morgan as the Intersect as most of you are complaining about. Yeah I know it's ridiculous and he just doesn't have the physicality to make the action scenes believable, but I think it adds a different dynamic to this last season with Chuck being the leader of the team and having to make tough decisions without the Intersect's aide.

to the gratuitous shot of Yvonne in the black lingerie. I'm going to miss Sarah Walker when the show ends in 12 more weeks. Hopefully Yvonne will find another American TV show for next season.

One thing I will definitely not miss is Jeffster. Their antics at Buy More are so annoying and old.

Surprised when Chuck said that the Buy More needs to turn a profit for them to finance their missions. Didn't realize it as a money loser.

Loved it. I thought it was a great opener. I didn't mind Morgan being the intersect as much as I minded Chuck not being the intersect.

Re: Chuck -- Season Premiere -- "Chuck Versus the Zoom" -- 10/28/11

I watched a new episode of Chuck for the first time since season 2 (Christmas, post-Super Bowl 3D)!

This year I started a project to get caught up on seasons 2-4 (part accomplished in my Make Your Own challenge), and just finished the Saturday after this episode aired. Pretty good episode slightly diminished by my watching so many great ones over the last few months, but glad I'll be here for the final run.

Yvonne in lingerie

Loved the epsiode. Morgan as the intersect was not too bad, although as mentioned, everyone is now being able to absorb the program.

T.I.T.S was awesome.

I dont want Chuck to be bumbling now, he has been a proper agent for a while, he is intelligent and capable; no reason why he would have been unable to learn over the course of 4 years.

Kinda disappointed with this episode. Not a big Morgan fan, so for him to me a main character now is not a good thing to me. I figure that the end play will be Chuck being a competent spy without the intersect, (kinda like a Dumbo not needing the feather to fly - Chuck doesn't need the intersect to be a good spy).

Re: Chuck -- Season Premiere -- "Chuck Versus the Zoom" -- 10/28/11

Watched it today. Fun episode but nothing spectacular.

Chuck w/o the intersect is fine. Morgan with it ... ehh he seemed to get the hang of using it too easy. Chuck battled for a while learning to use it. Just seems odd is all.

I would imagine that the Buy More stuff will pick up now that it needs to be the money maker for the spy ring.

My guess is they will at some point off the intersect back to Chuck in some way but have him struggle over taking it back or not. Essentially he skips it as he realizes he is better w/o it. Of course Sara will obviously announce she is pregnant by the end of the season.

BTW anyone else hate her new hairstyle ... uggh!

Casey is just as good as ever.

And a shout out to Neelix!

Don't care for Morgan as the Intersect.

No Awesome = fail.

Re: Chuck -- Season Premiere -- "Chuck Versus the Zoom" -- 10/28/11

Welcome back Chuck! Lots of good stuff this episode. I like Chuck as the leader. I don't care for Morgan as the intersect, but they did okay with it. Ellie did mention something about "this version of the intersect" when she was looking at the glasses, so maybe it is one that is easier for the host to absorb and doesn't require Chuck's "special brain"?

Always nice to have gratuitous shots of Sarah in Lingerie. The Buy More stuff was funny, especially because they didn't drag it out over the whole episode. Jeff exposed himself after about a minute of screentime.

And the only reason I recognized Mark Hamill was because I was specifically watching for him. He looks a lot different.

Anyway, good stuff. Bring on next week!

Ellie was only in it for like 10 seconds, so I wouldn't read too much into it.

I believe that with the budget Chuck has had the past few seasons, the periferal sidekicks are only hired for a certain number of eps so won't be in all of them.
