Re: Best ONE Season Show ever ?
How about "That Peter Kay Thing?"
It kind of felt like it had more seasons, but Phoenix Nights was more of spin-off. |
Re: Best ONE Season Show ever ?
I recently watched John Doe for the first time on Hulu and thought it started strong but got weaker as the series progressed. By the end I wasn't that disappointed it didn't continue.
PS. I will give it props for Spoiler:

My favorites:
Firefly Surface Miracles |
Re: Best ONE Season Show ever ?
Even though all 13 didn't make it to air, I'm going to count Knights of Prosperity. Loved that show. It and Miss Guided were entirely too ahead of their time and buried by ABC. :(
Of the ones already said, I'll throw my votes for: Freaks & Geeks Wonderfalls Terriers The Chicago Code |

Same thing happened to Sons & Daughters. It was probably not mainstream enough for network TV. Both Miss Guided and Sons & Daughters were mid season replacements that ABC bailed on really quickly. |
Re: Best ONE Season Show ever ?
If it met the criteria, it would be EZ Streets.
Agree with a lot of the mentioned, and will add Jack & Bobby. |

I just blew your fucking mind.
When this thread dies, can we make a thread entitled: "Best shows that lasted one-and-a-half seasons?" That way I can blow my load all over the place for The Loop, Off Center and 2GETHER. |

Cancelled after a few episodes, but all 13 eventually aired on the Internet and syndication. You can buy the complete series for like $5 on Amazon. Awesome 1 season show with a satisfying end. the good: Firefly Journeyman Swingtown Threshold Making the Grade (TV series) the great: John Doe Terriers Miss Guided (thanks to whoever posted this. I had forgotten this show's title) Profit Rubicon really would like to watch My So-Called Life Freaks and Geeks The Prisoner (I've owned three different versions of this and sold the first two off before I watched them, but I do still have the BD). |
Re: Best ONE Season Show ever ?
Never saw any of these shows mentioned... but now I want to see firefly and freaks and geeks. The one that i remember being pretty good (maybe bc I was young at the time) and only lasting a season was Dead at 21.

Nothing to really add but love for Firefly, Freaks & Geeks, Wonderfalls and Undeclared.

Human Target. Great show. A short while another show appeared with the same title but that has no relation to the original. ;)

Mister Sterling
Hon. mention to the following: Life As We Know It Surface Invasion The Event (after a pretty slow start last year, it actually got to be decent to pretty good in the second half of the eps) |
Re: Best ONE Season Show ever ?
Journeyman
The Chicago Code - Delroy Lindo is the man. Daybreak - If only to see how they would handle a second season. The premise made it so that after the day was finally over everyone moved on. So I wanted to see if they would actually have a whole new cast for the second season. Life On Mars (US) Detroit 1-8-7 |
Re: Best ONE Season Show ever ?
Freaks and Geeks was all I could think of.

Kings. Amazing show starring Ian McShane in a modern retelling of the King David story. Damn you, NBC!

Re: Best ONE Season Show ever ?
Original Battlestar Galactica. Also, I'll second Kings.
