No one is watching this show for fantasy football. That was just the simple hook the show came up with for the audience. Rafi was great in this one.

In any event, definitely go back and watch the previous seasons. The first season is only 6 episodes I think. Tons of great stuff in the first 2 seasons with really only a few misfires.
This show is rarely about football and almost always holds up great without it.

I wouldn't say it's rarely about football. There are certain episodes that are very football centric. The name of the show is "The League" and the official synopsis of the show says something about a group of friends that play in a fantasy football league together.

Obviously nobody watches the show just because of the fantasy football aspect and it definitely works great with our without the football references, but certain episodes have a lot of football references while others, like last night's, have very few.

Just recalling the previous seasons, it's usually only passing references, quite a few last season had nearly none at all ie - the high school reunion last season.

Yeah, you're definitely right. I mean even the MOST football centric episodes still only spend a total of like 5 minutes of screen time actually talking about football. Actually now that I think about it, some of the funniest episodes of the entire series have been the ones that had the least amount of football talk. However, probably my least favorite episode of the series was the Halloween episode from season 2 and that had little to no football stuff.

In any event, last night's episode was a very non football related episode and it turned out to be one of the best episodes I've seen yet. So who knows. I'd actually like to see a run of episodes during the summer just to see what these characters do when it's not football season. Plus, we'd get even more episodes of the The League so it would be perfect.

Rafi kills me. The key with him is small doses, but always over the top.

Wish we'd get more Nadine Velazquez, seems like she's maybe in one or two scenes if at all.

I agree, Fantasy Football is always around..sometimes in the background, other times a little more upfront.

I know the guys in my league started to watch it because it was a show about guys in a fantasy football league, But understanding full well it was about their lives, with Fantasy FOotball mixed in.

Fantasy football is what brings everyone together (other than being family/friends)

btw how many people in this thread do we have that are in leagues?

Found it very weird that the opening shot of this last episode was an exterior of a New York City restaurant. The building even had its intersection of 52nd St and 2nd Ave written on its side. Thought they were going to have Ruxin traveling with his kid being the reason the nanny wasn't able to be with them.

I can't imagine many people noticed that. I can only assume Chicago also has a 52nd St/2nd Ave intersection.

They seem to be sexing her up a bit more this year...short shorts, shorter skirts, etc.

The chairs at Rafis place was the funniest joke of all the sitcoms I watched tonight.

"My bench keeps outscoring my starters."

That shit has been plaguing my teams all year, so frustrating.

Nice callback with Andre crying "Fidelio".

Rafi saved this episode by himself at the end. It was shaping up to be a pedestrian episode when it became hilarious at Rafi's involvement.

Super - "That's his toilet/kitchen."
Kevin - "BOTH?"
Taco - "Wow. That's efficient."

"Message from Taco - let him put it where ever."

Just too many one-liners, man. Hilarious.

I was loving how no one could tell when Ruxin was being sarcastic. Seconds after the scene with Rafi at his office I thought "heh - you can't tell when Ruxin's being sarcastic"... and they had the scene at the bar when all his friends told him that.

Taco's My Face and the Ruxin storyline were the only saving graces of this episode (also Rafi but just because I love his insanity) but the whole Bobbum Man thing was one of the biggest dud storylines the show has ever done. Easily one of my least favourite episodes of the series - season 3 was bound to have at least one ep that wasn't gold and this was it.
