Ugh... I'm thinking there may be too much Chang in this one...

For some reason my local Detroit station has some program called Make Me Rich listed instead of this. I ended up missing the first 10 minutes before noticing and actually manually starting the recording. Does anyone know when Comcast puts up the most recent episodes of shows On Demand by chance?

Todd is hilarious; I love how everyone trashed him and he just took it with a smile. I really hope his character appears again. Todd: "That's cool, whatever gets the project done."

---

The Chang stuff wasn't really funny, but I loved the stuff with the Group and Todd. The ending with the group talking about Todd killed me.

Britta: "Alright, who drew a butt?"
Troy: "They're boobs. And I don't know."

I don't know why but the professor wanting to know what happened to Legos had me

Re: Community -- "Competitive Ecology" -- 10/06/11

Some laughs but I thought it was a little weak by Community standards. Chang had some good non-sequiturs but his plot seemed particularly pointless. And the group infighting has been done better in past episodes.

I did love Britta's Freudian slips at the end though

I also noticed there's been 2 Breaking Bad references in the past 3 episodes

Didnt really care for this one. Kinda mad me sad the funniest stuff was Todd. I think they need to just get rid of Chang.

Wow. I really disliked this episode. Chang doing film noir sounded like something that would be right up my alley, but this was totally pointless. The rest was just painful. I was actively starting to hate the characters by the end. Season 3 has gotten off to a really slow start; two mediocre episodes and one bad one. I usually hate when people come into these threads just to bitch and moan, but I was majorly disappointed by this one.

I kept waiting for it to pay off, like maybe he inadvertently solves a real crime or there's some other twist at the end, but it ended up going nowhere. And I thought he was way too isolated from the rest of the cast... Chang needs people to play off of, what we don't need is "The Chang Show" that has nothing to do with the rest of the episode.

Chang in a noir channeling Philip Marlowe. Wow, painful to watch with zero payoff.

Everything else was rather mediocre.

Interesting seeing Chalky White as their Biology Professor for the 2nd week.

Re: Community -- "Competitive Ecology" -- 10/06/11

Overall not great, though far better than most of what's on TV.

I think what bugged me this week was the Seinfeld-ian place that they took the characters, essentially making them selfish enough to only care about their own "rankings" at the expense of Todd. The "no offense" thing would have been funnier if the payoff had been better. But this show has been best when it's had some heart, and when it's been about seven misfits who need one another and who occasionally get annoyed by the Dean and by Chang. They had that last week, but lost it again this time around.

Also Chang, as has been said before, needs the group to play off of. He went from interacting with the group, to interacting with just Britta last week, to his own completely separate subplot. It's not working.

I liked that bit too. I liked how Annie raised her hand to answer, then Jeff motioned for her to stop. Like there was some major Lego event that no one wants to talk about.

I'm with everyone else. Pretty weak effort. Chang's plot sounds great on paper, but it just didn't play out well and had no payoff. The payoff is a character we've seen twice, quitting?

The LEGO thing was probably the highlight.

Agreed that Chang's stuff wasn't funny overall, but the brief shot of him playing the sax had me

I was right. Liked the other stuff OK, but the Chang stuff was unbearable.

LOVED the prof telling Magnitude "You know they're laughing AT you right?"

Everything with the professor was awesome.

Chang's subplot sucked. And was it just me or did his boss slip in and out of his accent whenever he showed up this season?

The group being a huge dick to Todd just seemed weird, given that they are usually nice, and devoted an entire D&D session for that one guy to cheer him up.

+1.

The Chang plot was just dreadful. Hopefully he doesn't get much more time like that. Supporting he is fine, but he can't carry his own storyline without being too annoying.

This felt kind of like It's Always Sunny to me with everyone being a complete dick. I hope they don't keep that up.

The Chang plot was so-so, but I have to admit I lost it at the end when he was laughing manaically in his fucking mind.

Very weak episode. Pierce putting down Todd at the beginning was the best part. The Lego thing was weird, not really funny. Chang's subplot was downright painful to watch.
