So then Walternate is a totally different person. When are we going to see him?

I was wondering about how Peter not existing would have kept the other Broyle alive. Thanks
for the explanation guys. Loving the episodes.

The thing I'm curious about is crossing over seems to be no big deal now. The characters seem to be crossing over frequently and it was no big deal to take a civilian over. So what has changed in that regard?

I got that, but they haven't shown it have they? Are we talking getting stepped in like Peter to cross or did merging the worlds open a Stargate like wormhole or what?

No, hey showed it at the end of the premier. It was in the main room were OurLee was looking throuh the warehouse windows. So the machine room is common to both - think of it like the wardrobe and lamppost wrapped into one from Lion Witch Wardrobe. Although I guess two wardrobes would be more accurate.

I guess if you leave the room in overthere you come out at the Statue of Liberty in NY. Do we know where the exit overhere is? Did they move the machine here to the same spot and sync up?

So essentially exit out the east door you end up in one world and the west door takes you to the other? Seems too basic for a sci-fi show.

Peter was attached to the machine and crossed over. When he did that it stabilized a crossover point between the two worlds.

Why is Astried trying to hook up Olivia with Lincoln? If she thinks he's lonely should just go for him herself. Actually, for some reason I think that Astrid is supposed to be a lesbian. I'm not sure if that's something they've said on the show or if that is just something in my mind somehow. It would be nice if they gave us at least one episode going more into Astrid's life before the series ends.

Speaking of...sounds like Fringe had its lowest ratings yet for this episode. This season could be the last.

Not to be a buzzkill, but the ratings are NOT good. I hope it lasts the season.

Because it'll make for that awkward triangle when Olivia falls for alt Lincoln because he's so much more awesome than the nerd version.

Yeah what incredibly depressing reading. Down 20% from last week. Seems like even the fans are bailing

I want to thank all the posters on this thread.

I have watched every episode, but I have a real bad memory and was completely fucking lost. I wasn't sure where or even when this was taking place. The posts here helped me piece it all together.

BTW. Great episode ... I think ????

Well it's been pointed out in the ratings thread that everything was down from premier week. Maybe we'll have a better picture once the +[days] come in for DVR viewing.

Yep, I instantly got that reference as well. Did you ever happen to see the commerical's from the 80's that was apart of the Maxwell campagin?

THANK YOU...see I'm not stupid for bringing up why I'm confused about altbroyles being alive.

And to the other poster I am a "fan of the show" and I still found it confusing that he is randomly alive again with no explanation and apparently so did many other people.

Isn't it amazing that we can have this show in network TV? In 2011, when reality shows are king.

The show is pretty complex, sci-fi heavy, geek, nerd, etc. That's why I'm not surprised about the ratings, but I really hope the producers have an exit/end strategy, even for this season.

Good point. Occam's razor would pose simply that Broyles didn't help her or there was no reason to help her cross back. I forgot to check, did he still have the messed up eye? I don't recall it standing out in this episode.

If the machine created a doorway between worlds, when did that doorway open? May 2011 when Peter stepped into the machine? Or if Peter never survived childhood to turn on the machine in 2011, has the doorway been open longer via some other method?

Damn I love this show for exactly this reason.

It WILL last the season, it WON'T be renewed. Let's just hope the writers/producers realize that as well, so they can give us some closure.

I looked for the messed up eye too and it didn't look like he had it.

All I have to say about this is "Hell no". Nerdy Lincoln is a way better character and definitely hotter. I've seen that a lot of people prefer the Blue version because they found the Red one too smarmy and up himself (like me). So thank god we're getting mostly Blue Lincoln this season instead of the other one (or so it seems from the two episodes aired).

The two of you looking for Broyles' glowy eye are getting your universes and timelines mixed up. Broyles from the Red universe never had anything different with his eye, the episode you're thinking of is the third season finale set in the future when Peter goes to see Broyles to get Walter released after he's been imprisoned.
