Correction, it actually premieres Tuesday the 14th.

I'm looking forward to season 2, but I'm in no rush to watch it. Since it is airing legally in the U.S., I'll wait until October.

For the curious, 11.99 pounds is approximately $19.47 and thats for 4 episodes. It's doubtful the cheap bastards in this forum would pay that much. People in this forum already have a hard enough time paying $20-25 for 22-24 episodes and that's usually 6 months to 1 year after it comes out.

It starts tomorrow, the 14th.

I had read originally that it would air over two nights, with two episodes per night, but looking over the BBC website, it seems that they're going to be playing 1 episode per week. Or maybe per night, since it doesn't specify, but it's certainly going to be just the one episode.

I just hope BBC America airs it more than just only on twice on Sunday nights this time.

BBC America is airing Luther as part of its new "Dramaville" hour Wednesdays at 10pm. "Dramaville" doesn't start properly until August with the six-part series The Hour (which is airing on BBC Two in July), so BBC America is making yet another puzzling decision by scheduling Luther for October. Law & Order UK repeats are airing on Wednesdays at 10pm now, so BBC America could have easily scheduled Luther S2 to start this Wednesday, just 24 hours after the UK premiere.

However, be warned that BBC America is advertising "Dramaville" as a "weekly, one-hour slot" on Wednesdays at 10pm with host wraps by Idris Elba. If BBC America means all shows will be scheduled from 10-11pm, then any BBC drama airing in this slot -- like The Hour and Luther -- will be edited down from 58-59 minutes to about 43 minutes to make room for commercials and pointless "host wraps" (remember, BBC America thinks we're too stupid to actually concentrate and remember the plot).

I'll be "finding" the full version of Luther S2 online starting Tuesday, loading it on a USB stick, and watching it on my LCD TV, since the BBC America broadcast will be missing 25 percent of the show and airing four months late.

P.S. The same editing will be happening on the upcoming "Ministry of Laughs" comedy hour on Saturdays at 11pm (why not air comedies on Thursday nights instead of crappy movie repeats?). Pointless host wraps and 30-minute slots mean any BBC comedy -- like Come Fly With Me -- will be cut from 28-29 minutes to 22-23 minutes, and as usual language will be censored, making shows like The Inbetweeners unwatchable.

I think I'm just going to order the dvd, since I'm sure I'll want to own it after I see it (already have the first season). I'll be backing out of this thread now, so as not to read any spoilers. In many ways it was a completely different series, but with the same main character and a few of the same supporting ones. Great season debut.

I went ahead and ordered it. I found a media player on the net that overrides regions so I will just hookup my laptop up to the tv via hdmi.
