Shouldnt Dinos be cold blooded? THey whould show up that clear with heat vision.
The family sucked the life out of this show. Lang was the best thing here, and the only reason to keep watching

School's still out on whether they were cold or warm blooded but consensus seems to be leaning towards warm blooded or some intermediate metabolism. In either case, they would need to use energy to move around (irrespective of where that energy came from) and would thus be emanating heat and show up on infrared.

I can't believe it took so many posts for the science on the show to get challenged. Usually sci-fi shows get picked to death.

Speaking of science, I'm wondering about the oxygen content. It's thought that the oxygen content was about 30% to 35% in the dinosaur age, it's 21% now.

Just saw the premiere and thought it was great. Visually stunning (well, the scenery, not dinosaurs haha), decent action, and the musical score was excellent.

Don't forget the big ass moon that's moving away at 1/2 a centimeter a year.
As to the oxygen levels, the TN website holds that it was lower then than now. They compare it to living at sea level and going to a higher altitude.
If it were as high as 30% to 35% humans may have some problems. Prolonged exposure to high levels of oxygen can lead to pulmonary and central nervous systems toxicity.
And, for the guy who didn't know who Peter was, I mistakenly thought that referring to the show Fringe in the post would be a clue. My bad. I'll try to be a little clearer for our "special" posters.

Some have suggested that they have not actually gone back in time on Earth but are either on another planet or in an alternate universe (a la Fringe). Which might explain the weird-ass dinosaurs that no one has ever heard of (slashasaurus? really?) and the wrong O2 content.
[Edit] Maybe the sixers are the modern humanoids of this alternate world and they're trying to defend their world? The sixer leader said "If you control the past, you control the future." But who's past/future? Ours or this alternate world's? Or maybe the sixers are us and the main group are the alternates going back to their world's past?

Just finished seeing it. Story and some of the dialogue could've been tighter but the big flaw...I hate the teens in this. Predictable and cliche. I also could've done without that Sixer moment at the end...that was I guess...also badly written.
Thought the production and music were solid. Pretty happy w/ the cast so far (except those teens...). Lang is great in this. It'd be cool if Lang got a scar like the one he had in Avatar.

Enjoyed it. Loved the shout-out to Bradbury's short story "A Sound of Thunder." Could have used less of the forced humor. And more of the production design of Battlestar Galactica, where everything looked realistically used and grimy. For such a dismal future and primitive past, everyone and everything sure looks freshly scrubbed. (My same gripe about Falling Skies.)

How often do you stick your head out for some fresh air and sunlight?
