Wow those last 2-3 minutes with that music was totally fucking awesome!

Wow. That was fucking intense and I loved every minute of it. Walt's laugh at the end was so ridiculously brilliant, I don't see how he doesn't earn himself another Emmy. God this show is fucking so good. So, so so good.

Best episode of the season/series!!!!

Fuck. I would've been very satisfied if they'd ended the entire series with those final 10 minutes. Not that I don't want 18 more episodes of Breaking Bad, mind you.

Man. One of the best episodes of the series. In addition to all the good things mentioned about the ending, I also got VERY worried when Marie called crying, since I thought something actually did happen to Hank at first. And Hank is like the ultimate detective these last few episodes.

Saul really pulled through in this episode for Walt...and yeah whoever said it was right, Saul always makes the right moves.

Ted...what an idiot. Even when spoon fed an opportunity (around 4 times) to square the situation, he still tries to flee.

Re: Breaking Bad -- "Crawl Space" -- 9/25/11

I wonder if Hank has suspicions about Walt. I mean it almost seems like he would have to at this point. All the questions he asks, being so jumpy whenever they're alone together, the fact that Walt just had a brain fart and crashed the car when the industrial laundromat was mentioned. Not to mention that he knows Walt is a smart chemist and would be fully capable of knowing how or figuring out how to cook meth. He seems like too smart of a character to not think that maybe there's more to Walt than meets the surface and put pieces together. I could be wrong but I wonder if something will come up between them soon.

Re: Breaking Bad -- "Crawl Space" -- 9/25/11

That some good shit in the last 10 minutes or so. Very well put together to convey the urgency, insanity and desperation of the situation.

Walt had to have known that at some point his family's life would be in danger. He's not dealing with amateurs here.

Why do I get the feeling Mike will eventually help out Walt and Jesse? Did Mike hear how Jesse tried to save him even though Gus took priority over him?

I have to believe Jesse will come through and save Walt's ass eventually.

Does Hank suspect Walt's involvement at this point? Walt's questions about the cartel drama, his assumption/hint to Hank that Gale wasn't the main chemist, his battered face which he won't explain, his trying to undermine Hank's theories and the very conviently timed car crash which seemed hard to be an accident... not to mention all of a sudden when Hank gets close there's another threat on his life (which could've come many weeks earlier when he was in a worse position to defend himself). I get the feeling that Hank just got wise and we'll find out before the season is over.

EDIT: and as I'm typing that, Mike86 posts the same basic thing.

The last 15 minutes will be legendary.

I only came in here to post this. Well, I was going to specify it was the best episode of Breaking Bad, but actually I might agree with what you said too.

Amazing. I don't even know what else to say. Some amazing acting all round, great acting, and great directing.

When Walt was out in the desert I loved the lighting with the clouds moving over them, it was probably just a coincidence, but it looked so awesome.

I loved the clouds too, as well as the washout as Walt's eyes adjusted.

I cannot believe they topped last week's episode. This show has just gotten better and better and better. I cannot fathom what they're going to do for the last season.

It didn't seem like a coincidence to me. Seemed completely staged a.k.a. special effects. I actually don't see how anyone could think it was a coincidence, since that shot was perfectly setup during the time and the clouds passed completely over during that entire shot and then it returned to every character being in the full glare of the sun.

That stuff happens in production all the time. I bet they saw the clouds rolling in and decided it would look great, yelled "everyone get into position!" and captured it.

It would never happen, but it would be interesesting if the 16 more eps things was some kind of false story planted by the network and Vince Gilligan. It would be interesting to see a show that came to an end earlier than expected AND at it's planned conclusion.

Not that I'm not happy about getting 16 more episodes.

Countdown to Dragon Tattoo implying I'm a moron or something...

Great episode. I love the fact the Gus drive a Volvo station wagon. He is the most frighting character on TV right now.

Not to mention the events in Season 1: Hank was investigating equipment was stolen from Walt's high school, specifically to cook meth. He even jokingly asked if Walt was the culprit.

They all drive shitty cars, one of my favorite parts of the show. It's a good way to stay under the radar. It's easy to get pulled over in a lambo or ferrari.

EXACTLY. Hank is a darn good detective, and I think it's extremely likely something is starting to gnaw at him, especially with Walt's nervousness, weird questions, skittish behavior, and now the crash. It can't be long before he starts to add 2+2...

Re: Breaking Bad -- "Crawl Space" -- 9/25/11

Hank has always considered Walt to be "book smart" only. He ripped on him calling him Kojack & Mr. Magoo. He's never considered Walt outside of that zone and I think it would take a pretty big slip up for him to do so now. For Hank it will be one of those hindsight is 20-20 and all the signs were there moments if/when he ever finds out of Walt's involvement.

They probably just stood there for awhile. If you rewatch the scene, it's hard to make out if mouths are even moving. Great shot they captured there...

Pure speculation on my part but I spoilerized it anyways.
Spoiler:
I remember reading at the start of this season in an interview with Bryan Cranston I believe that Walt does something irredeemable by the end of the season. I almost wonder if somehow Hank will find out his involvement and Walt will kill Hank (possibly via the ricin).

I'm curious if Walt will put his family first and do something to Jesse. We know that Walt was out of action for just a few days in the hospital and production had to go on. If Walt takes Jesse down, what's Gus' next move?

Seeing how Saul's "associates" have left the house, he's either dead or paralyzed, and neither of those things will make a stop payment very easy.

That could be dangerous though. What if Gus offered the bottle to Jesse?

If Hank is under super security now, why doesn't Walt just take the family there for protection while he sorts out a better long term solution? He just say he was afraid the bad guys might have seen him driving Hank around near the facilities and feared retaliation.

The car wash, Walt's medical bills, Hank's medical bills, Walt Jr.'s two cars, living expenses, Skyler giving Ted the money to pay off the IRS, plus payments on his apartment and I assume mortgage payments on the home as well. I don't know how much he had but he's probably used a lot of it by now.

Gus and Walt agreed to a $1 million per month contract when they first started working together.

And even then, what was the number Walt said he makes earlier in the season? 17.5 million a year?

Mike86 09-27-11 01:19 PM

Re: Breaking Bad -- "Crawl Space" -- 9/25/11

I don't think he's been working for him that long yet though. Plus I'm sure the medical bills alone are eating a good chunk. The car wash and the money given to Ted was about $1.4 million roughly.
