Man, did I dodge a bullet with the showgirls. They were pretty competent in Taipei, so here's hoping we see more of that and less of their Los Angeles incompetence.

Picking by hotness didn't work for me in Survivor either. I was once the first one out of the Survivor game for picking Marisa.

FWIW: the hotness factor may have had something to do with the showgirl getting her lost passport back though.

Re: The DVDTalk Amazing Race Game -- Fall 2011 Edition

Wow, that was a tough blow. I think the producers went a little far to be sure most the teams would miss that sign. Between the large block type and distracting people around the table, half the teams were sure to miss it.

I just can't believe the brother and sister and older folks--who finished 6 HOURS later on the last leg--are still there while Ethan and Jenna were canned. Sigh. Just goes to show once again that you can't predict the best choice in this game.

Re: The DVDTalk Amazing Race Game -- Fall 2011 Edition

Wow, I never saw that coming, sorry Outcastja thanks for playing, but I'm especially grateful that you beat me to Ethan & Jenna during the draft! Sorry JD, but at least you still have the twins, but I'm sure you never imagined they would outlast E&J!

Sorry freshticles & ruddiger_718, thanks for playing. Your guys may have had an edge at airports, but as we were reminded of once again this week, an airport can be an equalizer.

And finally, who would have thought the Snowboarders would be smart enough to read a sign! This one is for us 1Why?

Sorry JasonF and BadlyDrawnBoy. Just bad luck not being in the group of four that worked together at the end.

davidh777--our twins are still hanging on by a thin thread LOL!

Sorry JasonF and BadlyDrawnBoy, thanks for playing. I live in Las Vegas so part of me wanted the showgirls to hang around a while longer.

Two in a row for the Snowboarders!

I feel like I won the whole thing just by making it through 3 eliminations with the old couple.

Me too. I'm pretty sure we won the over/under on the old folks.

I like the early season non-elimination rounds, because it keeps more people in our game longer.

Despite some bad travel planning, the Snowboarders are owning this game!

They were clearly the DVDTalk favorite when everyone was picking the teams. I guess for good reason!

Sorry JuryDuty and davidh777, but at least the twins went out gracefully and with the attitudes of winners. Thanks for playing.

Yeah, that's too bad, but I agree they had great attitudes. I held out a little hope at the end but JuryDuty and I knew we've been living on borrowed time for a couple weeks now.

Bad week for me in both this game and the Survivor game.

Seriously. Though you have to admit it was pretty impressive that they were a good three hours behind everyone else and ended up nearly catching up on a leg that allowed for little moving ahead. In fact, had they not had the lengthy speedbump, they might have actually come in one place ahead. Oh well. Not like we expected them to be in the final three anyway. Meanwhile, Bill and Cathi continue to amaze...

Long live JuryDuty and davidh777!

Re: The DVDTalk Amazing Race Game -- Fall 2011 Edition

We're choosing "not grown-up", because we ain't quite grown-up yet!
The Snowboarders returned to form and won a leg thanks to another tean's mistake for the 2nd time!

The non-elimination leg means we didn't lose anybody this week, but Marcus not being able to keep up with Bill is surprising.

Sorry Fist of Doom & AJW but thanks for playing. Oh wait ... that's me! Damnit but with Jennifer waiting around "clueless" when there's a double u-turn ahead, She deserved to be eliminated.

Jesus, My team is terrible at reading clues or even seeing other teams run freaking by BEFORE them at the U-Turn box. I have no hope for Laurence but Zac is so disappointing. MORONS.

Re: The DVDTalk Amazing Race Game -- Fall 2011 Edition

I can't believe Jennifer waited around so long--they practically deserved coming in last because of it.

More surprising to me though was Ernie and Cindy not using the U-Turn. The guys wouldn't have hated them for it at all--they know they're major competitors. Ernie and Cindy basically gave them that $15k. And I congratulate them for playing this game like it really is a race and taking it.

Hey, that's my line! I am equally at a loss to explain Jennifer's lack of judgement.

Noteworthy highlights:
The Snowboarders still take first despite Ernie & Cindy using their express pass.
Amani & Marcus had to deal with a truly challenging speed bump and moved up to fourth place.
and... Bill and Cathi managed to finish 3rd!

Yeah, I can't believe Ernie & Cindy didn't U-turn them. It would have not sent them out of the race, but it would drop any head-start at the next leg. From the preview it looks like they don't make that mistake twice.
