I watch it mainly for the pro dancers and to see how they manage to taylor dances for their "celebs". Although I hate when they stick one of the dancers with an "celeb" that clearly has no business trying to dance.

When asked whether TPTB would pair 2 men or 2 women together to dance, they didn't think it was time so it's not likely at this point. Next up should be the official announcement of their dancing pros.

I don't see where they would ever do that, other than as a stunt. I don't believe that's done in pro ballroom dancing. There's a specific male role and a specific female role in most of these dances. And it's not as if gay folk don't professionally ballroom dance or are unwelcome in that field. If the professional scene has males dancing with females, I'm not sure why ABC would do anything different.

Though I'm hardly an expert in professional ballroom dancing, so correct me if what I just wrote is wrong.

Chaz is still a woman. I don't care watch she says she is. All she did was have her breasts removed and take male hormones. Although, at "his" size, I'm sure there are some man boobs going there. Anyway, he whole thing is just so creepy having her on there as a man, dancing with a woman. I'd be more interested in Portia DeGeneres on there dancing with another woman quite frankly.

I believe in ballroom competitions, it is specified that males must lead and women must follow. It's for that reason, gay ballroom dancers decided to hold their own and they compete in a couple of gay games (Olympic events for gay men and women--of which ballroom dancing is considered a sport).

I am so out this year. I have watched every year since the beginning. I usually end up liking the cast of characters, but honestly, I'm not giving this groupa chance. Kardashian boy, Nancy Grace, Chaz Bono, Rikki Lake, and generic basketball star? UGH...
I would watch for Maxim and Hope, but I could not stomach the rest. I'll pick you up next season, DWTS, if you get back on track and stop trying to be such a freak show.
