Spoiler:
Actually when Niall shows up and gives Sookie the full explanation of her family's history he does explain that Jason is part fairy but his powers lie mainly in his attractiveness and ability to bed down just about anyone he wants. I don't remember which book this was explained in but it was definitely one of the later ones.

I think they decided not to make Jason the hybrid werepanther because there was no way in hell they would have been able to show anything convincing CGI or costume-wise that would please fans. And the remaining book storyline of his involvement with Crystal and Hotshot has already run its course and the writers have already done away with the characters there who were played a part in the books like Calvin Norris. All they have left to do is kill off Crystal.

Then again, this being True Blood, maybe they are holding out for the right moment for Jason to go wereleopard on someone's ass. I like how they are mixing storylines from different books now and not sticking to a book per season.

Frankly, after this fourth book, I can't see them carrying much over from the book storylines to the show. Queen Sophie is already dead and 3/4 of the show seems to center around the characters Alan Ball has added or changed now. Which is fine by me because I get to enjoy a whole new storyline with characters I enjoy from the books. I do hope that Amelia shows up at some point tho.

Sorry, but my heart belongs to another, more undead girl on the show. One who I would wholeheartedly extend a permanent invitation to, unlike some people in this episode.

Well, Sookie is a fang banger and werewolves do have fangs, so...

...I think he's her type.

They've basically described werewolves/panthers as shifters that can only change into one type of animal. So it would seem like she would have to be one or the other depending on what ability she manifests.

Question
I remember Lafayette saw the ghost in the kitchen singing to the kid. But I don't remember him telling the mom and dad about her. Did I miss that? How did they know about her? He had to of told them, right?

I don't think so, I'm pretty sure they're convinced it's Renee's ghost. Unless I missed something recently.

My randomly crazy prediction:
Spoiler:
The daughter kills her father and cements her ability to human shift like her mother. Alcide becomes new alpha of the Shreveport weres.

Doesn't sound that random or crazy to me. Good call.

Re: True Blood -- "Spellbound" -- 8/14/11

This was my favorite episode of the season so far minus Eric/Sookie's venture into the snowy forest, which was more icky and gooey than any of the slain vampires.

@ Andy on all fours wanting to lap up some dead Beulah Carter. Poor guy...he doesn't even have Jason to help him thru his vampire blood vial addiction.

Lafayette only utters two or three expletive lines and he still manages to come out a winner prancing around in a do-rag in this hour.
