The funniest shows of their time

What do you think were the funniest shows of 1995, 2000, 2005, and 2010?

The shows had to still be airing new episodes (even if it ended spring of that year or started fall of that year). If you didn't discover the show until recently, it still counts.

Some links to help you remember:

1995: 1 | 2
2000: 1 | 2
2005: 1 | 2
2010: 1 | 2

<hr>

My picks:

1995: The Simpsons
2000: Family Guy
2005: Arrested Development
2010: Modern Family

For 1995, Seinfeld would've been a close 2nd pick. For 2000, Futurama was (and is) the better show, but Family Guy was funnier. By the time 30 Rock hit 2010, it wasn't as good as it may have been in its heyday (2007-2009).

*Honorable mention goes to Scrubs since its best years fell in between 2000 and 2005. It ranks up there with the best of the best.

Re: The funniest shows of their time

Definitely feel like it's "Community" now, "Arrested Development" in 2005. And I know the original "The Office" on BBC ran from 2001 to 2002 (with the Christmas special a year later) but it feels wrong not to include it somehow.

Someone who's watched more TV than I have can probably answer this, but has anyone pulled off the "fake clips" the way "Community" has? Seems like they've done it on a handful of occasions and it's been gold every time.

1995 -- Seinfeld
2000 -- Coupling UK
2005 -- Arrested Development (although I say this w/o remembering what cable offerings there were in '05)
2010 -- The League

Re: The funniest shows of their time

95 - Seinfeld
00 - South Park
05 - Curb Your Enthusiasm
10 - South Park

05 was really difficult, because it included the first season of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, which I thought was hilarious. And of course Arrested Development was still on, although I'd have to put that third because the Charlize Theron plotline didn't measure up to previous seasons IMHO.

I guess I'll have to check out Community sometime.
