Re: Game of Thrones (HBO) Season 2: Casting, News
I think Purefoy would make a great Stannis.
As for the Red Viper, I've always pictured Dornishmen as darker complected than the rest of Westeros, so if I were the casting director, I'd lean toward actors of Mediterranean and Arab ancestry. Alexander Siddig would make a good Red Viper, IMO. |

Re: Game of Thrones (HBO) Season 2: Casting, News
It takes a really good actor to portray someone who is cold and distant without the performance itself being wooden. I don't think it would be a waste of Purefoy's talents at all.

I completely agree with Dr. Julian Bashir being the Red Viper, his voice is the one I always hear when the Red Viper appears on page.

TWOP getting in the act, their casting suggestions for season 2:
http://www.televisionwithoutpity.com...season_2_c.php Anna Friel as Melisandre, David Thewlis as Davos |
Re: Game of Thrones (HBO) Season 2: Casting, News
Some interesting choices although Chiklis as Belwas? Not who I pictured in that role.
|
Re: Game of Thrones (HBO) Season 2: Casting, News
If it were 30 years ago, my ideal Strong Belwas would be that dude from Raiders of the Lost Ark who fights Indy on the airstrip and winds up getting propellered to death.

Abbie Cornish won't work though. Too hot and too short. The casting call said nobody under 5'10. I always pictured Belwas as Arab or Persian so Chiklis isn't exactly my first choice. Not that I have anyone better in mind at this point. Don't know much about the others they suggest but they all seem to look the part. |
Re: Game of Thrones (HBO) Season 2: Casting, News
The production budget for Season 2 will be higher than Season 1, I'm sure. So expect unknowns in most roles (except maybe some strategic casting like Stannis or Davos). Which is fine, because the unknowns they got in season 1 have done a great job.

TV Overmind would love to see fan favorite Eva Green as Meliandre:

Another casting suggestion, David Wilmot for Davos, apparently there was a audition video of Wilmot reading for Davos that was well received. |

If nothing else, they need to use this kid's version of the theme song at least once next year. Sounds better than the original.

I love that version. The different versions I have seen have all been excellent..the 8 bit, acoustic and heavy metal versions have all been good.

Logan Kerr has been potentially cast as Mathos Mallarawan But if they're casting Matthos Seaworth, that probably means they've already cast Davos, since I assume they'd want to have the actor playing Davos's son read with Davos during the audition. |
