Yes, I know she's too short, but she has the right look.

Stannis

Melisandre
Jaqen H'ghar
Brienne
Jojen and Meera Reed
Balon and Asha Greyjoy
Mance Ryder
Ygritte
Edmure Tully

Do they include someone like Vago Heart or give the major thing he does to someone else?

I don't see why they would cut Vargo Hoat -- the show has shown a remarkable (and much appreciated) unwillingness to simplify or condense the story, and Hoat is an interesting character who would be fun to see on screen. Brynden Blackfish is the only significant character I can think of who they haven't included (and I'm hoping he'll show up in season two).

Anyway, other characters they'll need for Season two include the Qarthians (Xaro Xhaon Dacos, Pyat Pree, Asshai), Strong Belwas, Craster, Gilly, Aeron Damphair, Qhorin Halfhand, a bunch of wildlings like Rattleshirt (though some of these can wait until they adapt book 3), Dolorous Edd (plotwise, they could cut him, but I really, really hope they don't), Roose Bolton, and Amory Lorch.

On the book tour Martin's on somebody asked him about the Blackfish and he told them that he hasn't seen any casting information for the part. So it doesn't sound like he's going to be included.

She can play Ellaria Sand. She doesn't have the screen presence to play Mel. She wasn't even remotely intimidating on V.

^ Try hanging with the characters of True Blood. It's got more fantasy element than this show if that's what you want.

The first ten minutes of this week's episode of True Blood are quite possibly the stupidest television I've ever watched.

I like True Blood and enjoyed last night's episode ... but it's no Game of Thrones.

wishbone, I've read the books and am currently rereading them in anticipation of the new one. They are awesome.

Lots of smoke regarding Christopher Eccelston is joining Game of Thrones.

I can get behind this and I have no idea who's new in book 2 yet that he'd be playing.

I'm right about 1/3 of the way through GoT now, so it shouldn't take much longer before I've switched sides and done ruining your lives and begin annoying the illiterate.

He'd be perfect for Stannis, but he's supposed to start shooting something something for the BBC soon so I wouldn't get my hopes up until it's announced.

Mild spoilers:
Spoiler:
No way Chris "One Season" Eccelston would sign on to play Stannis.

But he could play Jaqen H'ghar (with David Tennant assuming the role after that).

pinata242 06-27-11 02:46 PM

Re: Game of Thrones (HBO) Season 2: Casting, News

Maybe the length of your role in Star Wars is inversely proportional to your Game of Thrones role?

If Julian Glover (Maester Pycelle) was as prominent as he was, Eccelston would be in every scene.
