Rickon looked several years older then the he did in the first episode.
Tyrion's conversations with Tywin are always great

I wonder how The Hound feels about Jamie being named Captain of the King's Guard.
I'm also looking forward to the hill tribe's reaction when they realize that Tywin's army isn't going to be the one that Robb attacks. Dinklage was awesome as always.

Btw. An 8 year old girl runs a 10 year old boy through. Oh how I love this show.

I enjoyed seeing a lot more Robb in this episode.
This also probably marks the first time in the history of filmed entertainment that someone having their entire tongue ripped out through a hole in their throat has been depicted.

Also, this series is only adding to my long-held appreciation of Varys as a favorite character. The actor who's playing him is great, especially his faux-hesitant style of line delivery that hints at him knowing everything yet still choosing every word cautiously (or just for maximum effect).
And I think after this episode I have a new-found respect for Barristan Selmy, who barely registered in my memory from reading the books. The actor really sold both the indignation and humiliation of the scene where he's essentially fired after a lifetime of dedicated service.

He had all 7 of the Kingsguard. None of them were assigned specifically to him. In the books the other Kingsguard had bigger roles.

Wow, I just now realized that the actress playing Osha (the Wildling prisoner/"guest" at Winterfell) is also Tonks in the Harry Potter movies.
It's also interesting that this is the only episode of the season penned by George R.R. Martin (author of the books) as well. That may explain why it kicked large quantities of ass. Notice that every minute seemed essential, every character was given time, and there were no extraneous 5-minute lesbo sex scenes (and no Roz at all, for that matter).

The writer of this episode was George R.R. Martin himself (author of the novels). How often does that happen in a TV series based on books?

Can't wait, it's really going to ramp up now!
