The Chicago Code -- "Greylord & Gambat" -- 5/16/11
By djariya at 2011-01-01
Synopsis:
Spoiler:
Episode 12 of 13
Next week is unfortunately the Series Finale. This was cancelled last week. I know some of you were/are tempted to go ahead and delete your unwatched episodes/season pass, but Shawn Ryan said on his Twitter feed that episode 13 has a satisfying end.

At the end of last week's episode I thought FOX was promoting tonight's as a 2-part finale? Guess not. My DVR shows only 1 episode airing.

Man, this episode is intense. Everything is cranked up to 10 and I'm so scared for Liam.
---
I can't believe Liam is being so reckless. I mean, doesn't he think by now if he has been exposed the first thing Killian would do is call his daughter? Hopefully he doesn't die, since he's my favorite character, but he does end up dying, I bet the cop that outed Liam will testify against Gibbons and Killian.
Also, Delroy Lindo sure can dial up the crazy for Gibbons when the scene calls for it.
---
Man, I was totally waiting for the third guy to sneak up from behind and shoot Caleb. From his reaction, it looked like that was the first person has killed in the line of duty. Is that the case? I could've sworn he had killed someone earlier in the season, or at least shot them, but I guess not.
---
That final showdown between Wysocki and Gibbons was intense. As soon as you saw it was Gibbons there, you knew it had to do with Wysocki's brother. No way Wysocki breaks the law or sides with Gibbons, even if it is to avenge his brother. He knows that his brother wouldn't want him to do that. Still, it was great to see Gibbons play that card and his evil side shine through clearer than ever.
This was a great episode and it makes me regret the show's cancellation even more. I wish they would've just aired the last episode from 10-11; I don't want to have to wait another week, lol.

Re: The Chicago Code -- "Greylord & Gambat" -- 5/16/11
damn... cancelled?
I was watching it early on missed a bunch of shows in the middle but had picked it up again the last few weeks and was really liking it. This last show definitely amped it up and I came in here to talk about how glad I was to catch the end of the season and looking forward to the final and where they might head next season.
Thanks for the buzzkill Djariva! (kidding)
I assume it was ratings thing? (Or costs?)

I was going to post "holy cow, was this intense!", but I see everybody beat me to it .
Loved the encounter between Wysocki and Gibbons at the end. Delroy Lindo really has shined in this show. Fantastic episode.
Good to hear there's some resolution in the season finale.

Ratings up 12% last night. Similar to Breaking In, I wish the network would consider "uncancelling" this show. Very wishful thinking, I know. Or perhaps, this increases its likelihood of another network picking it up (i.e., FX).

Definitely will miss this one next year ..... one of the few new shows this past season that became "must see" for me.

fantastic episode. Undercover plots are the best!
Ending scene had some Emmy-worthy performances.

Now I know why I stopped watching television a few years ago. It has taken me a couple of years since I began watching the networks again to realize how much time I am wasting by watching shows the networks will never fully support. When I started watching this show for the first few weeks, I thought for sure this would be a winner and back for a second season.

OMG, what an intense episode.
The scenes with Liam undercover were top notch. I was really nervous for him when he faced with murdering the Trash guy and his girlfriend.
He should have known better than to make a play for Killean's daughter.
Top notch scene at the end with Wysocki and Gibbons.
With the Gibbons investigation winding down and a possible arrest in the future, I have to wonder how Ryan would have plotted out a 2nd season.
It sucks that next week is it, but it is what it is.

I'm sorry your disappointed and I'm sorry you feel like you wasted your time. But, that's reality. Most new TV shows fail, even the good ones.

Wow, finally got around to watching this, and like everyone else already said, INTENSE!
I'm really sad to see such a great show get cancelled, but hopefully the finale provides some closure.
Delroy Lindo has just been outstanding in this.
