Re: NBC's Fall 2011 Schedule
This is what I suspect my DVR will look like on the NBC side this Fall;
TUESDAY 10 pm Parenthood WEDNESDAY 8 pm UP ALL NIGHT 8:30 pm FREE AGENTS THURSDAY 8 pm Community 8:30 pm Parks and Recreation 9 pm The Office 9:30 pm WHITNEY FRIDAY 8 pm Chuck |
Re: NBC's Fall 2011 Schedule
I'm very excited about Grimm, but in that slot after something like Chuck it's going to do well to actually air all the initial order. I'll take what Greenwalt I can get, I guess.
The comedies all sound wretched. I'm pissed they canned Outsourced for this shit. |

I read that they will be making two versions of this show: one for US audience and another for the international market and DVD since the actors have nudity clause on their contracts. Might as well just wait for the Unrated DVD version if it last a full season.

If you've seen Hellcats on The CW, this was the original actor cast in Cibrian's role on Playboy Club. Jeff Hephner. Apparently he bombed at the Pilot table read and was immediately replaced. I'm disappointed that NBC didn't cut actual trailers for these new shows. All I see on their site and others is these scene clips, which really do nothing for me is getting a feel for what the show is about. |

Looks like just Parenthood, Community and Football for me.

Re: NBC Announces Fall 2011-12 Schedule
Despite that blurb about this being the final season of Chuck and the boot to Friday's... looking at that schedule, chances of a full season look promising.

Re: NBC's Fall 2011 Schedule
This schedule is obviously catering more towards female audiences than men. I see there is quite a few new female-centered shows. I think NBC's new President is trying for the most part to play it safe, especially with Comcast taking over. I know the message board fans like us probably aren't happy since there isn't any geeky heavily serialized science fiction or action shows. But, can anyone blame him? All the serialized action, science fiction and procedurals from this past season failed and some badly. I think he had no choice, but to go in a different direction. The most expensive show appears to be The Playboy Club since it's a period drama. Awake seems to be the only new drama that could get some male action viewers, however it's not even on the schedule yet.
But, hey it's still better than this piece of shit schedule: Remember this from 2 years ago? MONDAY 8-9 p.m. - "Heroes" 9-10 p.m.--"TRAUMA" 10-11 p.m. - "THE JAY LENO SHOW" TUESDAY 8-10 p.m. - "The Biggest Loser" (two-hour edition) 10-11 p.m. - "THE JAY LENO SHOW" WEDNESDAY 8-9 p.m. - "PARENTHOOD" 9-10 p.m. - "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" 10-11 p.m. - "THE JAY LENO SHOW" THURSDAY 8- 8:30 p.m. - "SNL WEEKEND UPDATE THURSDAY" (multi-episode run) 8:30-9 p.m. - "Parks and Recreation" 9- 9:30 p.m. - "The Office" 9:30-10 p.m. - "COMMUNITY" (moves to Thursdays 8-8:30 p.m. after multi-episode run "30 Rock" returns) 10-11 p.m. - "THE JAY LENO SHOW" FRIDAY 8-9 p.m. - "Law & Order" 9-10 p.m. - "Southland" 10-11 p.m. - "THE JAY LENO SHOW" SATURDAY 8-9 p.m. - "Dateline NBC" 9-10 p.m. - "TRAUMA" (encore broadcast) 10-11 p.m. - "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (encore broadcast) SUNDAY 7- 8:20 p.m. "Football Night in America" 8:20-11 p.m. "NBC Sunday Night Football" NBC MID-SEASON 2010 SCHEDULE (2010 WINTER OLYMPICS preempt regularly scheduled programming from February 12-28, 2010) *New programs in UPPER CASE MONDAY 8-9 p.m. - "Chuck" (season premiere) 9-10 p.m.--"DAY ONE" 10-11 p.m. - "THE JAY LENO SHOW" TUESDAY 8-9:30 p.m. - "The Biggest Loser" (90-minute edition) 9:30-10 p.m. - "100 QUESTIONS" 10-11 p.m. - "THE JAY LENO SHOW" WEDNESDAY 8-9 p.m. - "MERCY" 9-10 p.m. - "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" 10-11 p.m. - "THE JAY LENO SHOW" THURSDAY 8- 8:30 p.m. - "COMMUNITY" 8:30-9 p.m. - "Parks and Recreation" 9- 9:30 p.m. - "The Office" 9:30-10 p.m. - "30 Rock" 10-11 p.m. - "THE JAY LENO SHOW" FRIDAY 8-9 p.m. - "Law & Order" 9-10 p.m. - "Southland" 10-11 p.m. - "THE JAY LENO SHOW" |
Re: NBC's Fall 2011 Schedule
Funny to see so many shows that were shitcanned.

Re: NBC Announces Fall 2011-12 Schedule
/\ I kind of hope not. I like Chuck a lot, but it seems as though the show works better when they have a conclusion mapped out. I afraid that a last-minute back-9 pickup would result in spinning the tires for those final episodes. I'd prefer to see it go out strong and focused.

TVLine: You only ordered 13 episodes of Chuck. Any chance you’ll increase that number? NBC prez Bob Greenblatt: I don’t think so. Unless suddenly we have 10 million viewers watching it on Friday night, then it would. |
Re: NBC Announces Fall 2011-12 Schedule
Well, if they (about the back 9) know when filming around episode 8-9, they could easily create/alter the arc. Whatever. 13 episodes is fine with me. Ready for this one to be over.

Re: NBC's Fall 2011 Schedule
Hmmm. Awake sounds promising as does Grimm.
|
Re: NBC's Fall 2011 Schedule
Wow, what a crap schedule for NBC, I guess I'll be able to avoid about 85% of their schedule.
|
Re: NBC's Fall 2011 Schedule
I'll probably watch football, SVU (on occasion), Grimm and Awake. I'm curious as to how Grimm stacks up to the ABC show Once Upon a Time.

Re: NBC's Fall 2011 Schedule
This is some Fox circa-1991 shit. Is NBC ever going to get it together again?
|
Re: NBC's Fall 2011 Schedule
I'm interested in seeing how Whitney Cummings show. They are definitely giving her a good chance on Thursday night. We'll see.
|
Re: NBC's Fall 2011 Schedule
Gut reaction is that Awake sounds too weird to succeed on network TV. I'm thinking Journeymen or Life on Mars.

Football, SNL, The Office, and nothing else!
|
Re: NBC's Fall 2011 Schedule
Awake sounds completely absurd. I can't wait to see it.

I think that's a good thing, though: knowing precisely how long the runway is and being able to plan for that. The past couple of seasons have been dragged down at least in part by not knowing where the cutoff point is, exactly.

Re: NBC's Fall 2011 Schedule
I've seen the UK version of Prime Suspect so I'll give this one a shot.
