Two and a Half Men Shocker: Hugh Grant to Replace Charlie Sheen? (Update: No!)

Surprised this hasn't been posted yet (or if it was, I missed it), but it looked like Hugh Grant was close to signing out, but now has decided to pass on it, which makes the headline very confusing:

It’s long been reported that Two and a Half Men was going after a big name to replace Charlie Sheen next season, and now, thanks to TVLine’s sister site, Deadline.com, we know who it is: Hugh Grant!

Well, make that “who it was.” According to Deadline’s Nikki Finke, the deal — which would’ve paid the former matinee idol a cool $1 million per episode — fell through yesterday over creative differences. Mind you, that doesn’t mean that negotiations are completely dead necessarily. But it doesn’t look good.

Would you have watched Men with Grant as its leading man? Got another actor in mind to fill Sheen’s shoes? Let rip below. If CBS execs want to announce its fired lead’s replacement at next week’s upfronts, they needs all the help it can get!

I watched a bunch of Two and a Half Men episodes in syndication and it wasn't bad... just wasn't that good. I got over it pretty quickly... so no, I won't watch that show regardless of who replaces Sheen. Unless of course it's someone really awesome, but I doubt it will be.

Either way I hope they get that show back on the air or I hope that they can it and hire that crew for another sitcom. It's ridiculous all these people are out of work because a couple of people (mostly Sheen, I know but there are others involved in this) are assholes.

Hugh Grant would have been a great fit, but I think the show is a colossal waste of his talent.

I think the last episode I saw had Megan Fox in a bikini the whole episode. I'm not quite sure what that means in the scope of things.

Hugh Grant would be a terrific choice, though i think he deserves a show designed around his talent rather than stepping into this one. All the same, I hope he changes his mind.

Terrible show, but I'd watch the first ep with Grant just to see how they wrote him into the script.

I'd half anticipate they wouldn't change a thing, the mom would comment on it followed by "don't ask" and a really obvious sex joke.

I still think Alan should move in with Steven Tyler.

Two and a Half Men with Hugh Grant? My mom would probably feel really conflicted about that.

He was probably thinking "Love Actually was 8 years ago?! FUUUUUUCK! What are my options?"

I never watched the show, but if they got Hugh, I would definitely give it a shot. Hope they fix this somehow.
