Glad those two whiney twits finally got the boot.....although I don't think Vix stole the Globe's gnome mold and they should have shut the fuck up.

Next week: Come on Gary/Mallory!!!

Given how many times I've been burned by TAR's editing, I didn't let myself get my hopes up with that penalty ... but I sure am glad it worked out the way it did.

Of the four remaining teams, I'm rooting for Gary & Mallory first, then Zev & Justin, then the Globetrotters, and Jen and Kisha last.

at the finish/penalty. In a twisted sort of way, I'll miss their whining. But there's no way I wanted them to win, especially that loser Kent.

I'd be happy with any of the four remaining teams winning.

Vixxen was right though; she did have the best partner. He was awesome. He pitched right in; he never complained; he never panicked. The superlative teamwork was like watching Rob and Brennan all over again.

FYI, if your on the West Coast recording this, your recording is getting cut off due to Obama's press conference about Bin Laden.

Yeah I got NONE of the episode - just went to go watch it and it's an hour long CBS new special about the death of Bin laden. So from the posts above...

Spoiler:
Kynt and Vyxen get the boot because of a penalty? Anyone want to elaborate on the episode?

Very quick episode recap:
Spoiler:
The teams hit the detour first, which was either "Dig a body out of the snow" or "climb down an ice crevice." After that, they had to take a bus to the roadblock, and all teams except Zev/Justin made the same bus. The roadblock was "make a chocolate Travelocity gnome." Zev/Justin showed up while everyone else was working on their gnome, but they were pretty clearly behind, and everybody left before them. The final clue of the leg told the teams to proceed on foot to the pit stop. Kent and Vixyn hopped in a cab. They got a thirty minute penalty for taking the cab, and Zev and Justin made it to the pit stop before the penalty was over.

Zev and Justin fell behind at the detour and would have finished last, but the teams had to go on foot to the pit stop after the road block. K&V misread the clue so they took a cab (they left the roadblock first and still finished third even with taking the cab!). Believe it or not K blamed V for this. They got a thirty minute penalty, and Z&J caught up and finished fourth.

Re: The Goths: our long national nightmare is now over.
(Actually, that may seem a little crass given the news announced from Pres. Obama tonight).

RE: Gary/Mallory...still love their effort & LOL when Mal was throwing snow in her dad's face.

Hope they win, but I don't mind any of the rest of the teams. Zev won me over a little last week with the cheese challenge, but he lost ground with his lackluster effort digging in the snow. Our favorites are in this order: (1) Gary/Mall (2) The Sisters . Then the Trotters or Zev & Justin. Agree that Big Easy should have given it a rest about the gnome deal (Flight Time had the right attitude) and wasn't fond of their U-Turning the Cowboys last week, but then they knew the Cowboys were close).

I lost it when they pulled the first half of the dummy in their search & rescue detour. I am pulling for this team to win!

Bye-bye whiny Marilyn Manson circa Mechanical Animals era.

Re: The Amazing Race 18 -- "Too Many Cooks in the Kitchen" -- 5/01/11

Luckily I happened to be watching CBS News at 8pm PT and then after Obama's presser finished, I saw the show aired afterwards and immediately hit record on the DVR.

I enjoyed watching this leg mainly because the brisk editing helped keep it moving, especially during that snow-bound rescue challenge. I coudn't imagine being the editor of this episode and having to watch all that hours of footage in the rescue challenge and cutting it down for air.

Kent/Kynt was a fucking dick for antagonizing Vyx for the penalty. But, it was both of their faults for not double checking the clue.

I don't care what Freshticles thinks (he's probably the only Mallory hater on this board), but Mal and her Dad were great on this leg. She keeps everything so positive and I can't help but smile when I see her on screen. I'm glad they are in the running for the $1M prize.

With next week being the 2 hour finale, I assume 1 team will be eliminated in hour 1 and it will be a 3 team race for the 2nd hour like every season.

Best line from this episode - Zev : "The Matterhorn was named after the Disneyland ride.... Pretty mind boggling to me..."

From TVLine:

Did Vyxsin Cheat During the Chocolate Gnome Incident?

Whether by accident or not (and I am thinking not), I think that she did take the wrong one. It clearly showed her putting her mold in the bottom right, and when Flight Time went to get his, Vyxsin was already working on the mold, even though the one in the bottom right was still there.

I think it says a lot when my 8 year old daughter laughs at Kent.

Hopefully when she becomes an adult, she doesn't need help putting a hood on.
