Maybe the titles will be green, purple, yellow, or orange... and written in a language we don't know.

I thought it was pretty clear he was sent to the future on this side. I believe the 9/11 memorial building was dated 2021.

That was clear, however didn't the uniforms say Fringe division, and the previews for next week make it seem like it was the future and the two universes were merged.

That was fucking great. Thank God the season didn't ended tonight, because this could easily have been the season finale.

Looked like an alternate future world with elements of both current universes. I'm guessing that Peter will be stuck there for a good portion of next season while the rest try to figure out what happened to him. What I don't understand is why Peter, as the traveler, didn't have the cuts still on his face.
Now that Olivia can use her power, maybe she'll try to contact Fauxlivia for help. It'd be great having them both work together to try and find Peter. Of course, she'll no doubt find out about Peter being the father of her son and that will change things.
I'm so glad this show got picked up. I couldn't imagine how they would have tried to wrap up the whole thing in these last few episodes.

Just a guess here, but Peter didn't actually travel in time. His 2011 consciousness traveled into his body in 2021, hence why he was wearing different clothes, didn't have the cuts, and was recognized by that guy. Now, whether it's 2021 in a third universe that is a mix of both or is just our universe in the future (and Fringe division has since been created) it's hard to say. I'm sure it was left intentionally ambiguous at this point.
And Jebus but your scenario has me flashing back to Lost. Please be wrong. Arrrrrrgggggggg...why can't scifi shows just leave time travel alone?!

interesting, they could have actually used this as a finale if they needed to, so the actual finale better be the shit

^ Yes it was. I also thought it was Peter this episode when Astrid said that the message on the typewriter was "Be a better man than your father"

olivia got nothing
then the scene where peter asks her "what's the phrase?" ---
ostrich hears the typewriter pecking away, calls olivia...
maybe it's a catalyst situation, where its both of them together needed for things to happen
---
so is the sam weiss story over?

Re: Fringe -- "The Last Sam Weiss" -- 4/29/11
When I first saw it and the reference to the future, I was thinking that after the events in this reality it became clear that the Fringe division needed to be acknowledge and in turn was made a legit division of the government as it is in the alt universe. Seems like that is how the Fringe division must have been formed in the alt reality when everything started to fall apart over there.
