Re: The Confession (Kiefer Sutherland) -- "Chapter 7" -- 4/18/11
to the 24 reunion with Kiefer and Greg Ellis. You may remember Ellis played Michael Amador in Day 3.
Excellent chapter. It almost felt like a mini episode of 24. Hoffman was a scumbag and I liked that this chapter showed that Confessor didn't actually have to pull the trigger to get the job done.
I liked this line after Confessor forced Hoffman to drain all his assets from the people he ripped off:
Hoffman: Are you going to kill me?
Confessor: I just did.
And then Hoffman blows his brains out off camera with Confessor walking away.

Another great chapter.
Loved when the Confessor started reading off the names and got everyone their money back. And do think, all Hoffman had to do was give one person back their money and he could have avoided all of that, lol.
I like the idea that everything isn't always what it seems to be. The Priest thought Hoffman had seen the error of his ways and made amends with those he had wronged before taking his own life. Turns out the Confessor was responsible for Hoffman's "change of heart," which sort of undercuts the Priest's view that people will ultimately do the right thing.
It seemed odd to leave the handcuffs on Hoffman though. Any police detective worth their salt would realize something was up; the security guy shot with a different gun, handcuffs, etc.
And yeah, DJariya, this episode definitely felt like a mini-episode of 24, with Jack Bauer getting something he needed from the guy.

It's good to see Kiefer utilizing 24 alums for this great web series.

Yeah, this was a great installment. Would be great if they expand on this series in the future.
