Re: The Killing -- "A Soundless Echo" -- 4/17/11

Just a comment/theory, but just in case.

Spoiler:

I'm following Billy Campbell and Katie Findlay (Rosie) in Twitter. They seem to be really good friends. Kinda close I think. Go out for drinks and stuff.
So I'm guessing that they interact a lot in the show, because you know, sometimes if you don't work in the same scenes you never met your cast mates.
So, was Rosie in a relationship with Richmond? Did he killed her?

I work Sunday nights and missed this last week. I still need to watch that one tonight hopefully then this new episode. I really liked the premiere a lot and am interested in where this goes.

Last week's episode "El Diablo" re-airs tonight at 9pm. It should also be on AMC On Demand as well.

Watched all 3 last night...It's good, but not great. I hope it speeds up a bit.

Well, I think the original theory is out the window. It's way too early for that kind of reveal.

Re: The Killing -- "A Soundless Echo" -- 4/17/11

Nice to see someone address Holder's clothes, and how unprofessional he looks to work a murder.

What about the ole "Lethal Weapon", Rosie isn't killed because of something she's into, but something her dad is into. All the stuff going on is extraneous. Any affairs, any secrets, any plot devices that revolve around her. In the end, she was killed over something that had nothing to do with her.

Also kinda piss poor police work for Holder to not query anyone ON the bus, if they saw her, recognized her. Never occurred to him that shift changes occur for bus drivers? He is being presented as lazy and unable to take leaps in theory. I hope they show his growth as a detective, and how he comes to learn the difference between drug cases and murder cases, and the less than straightforward nature they follow.

I really do not know where they are going with this, but I am definitely going for the ride. Another great episode.

This isn't really the type of show that is going to be moving by fast. The entire season is working one case so it's going to be a slow build to the finale.

Exactly how I feel. Great storytelling so far. I love the fact that they keep totally undoing your notion of who the killer is and, at the same time, everything still makes sense.

I'm definitely going to check out the original Danish version too.

Re: The Killing -- "A Soundless Echo" -- 4/17/11

A really slow episode, but still good nevertheless. Everything on this show seems to be really well thought out and planned. It's a slow burn murder mystery and I hope people are patient with it.

Who was the guy that Stan took money from? I got the impression that he has some previous Mob ties and that guy was from his past.

So was the whole deal with Jamie getting fired/leaving Darren's campaign so he could become a plant/mole in Adams campaign team? I wasn't sure when exactly did Darren find out he wasn't the leak or if Darren suspects that Gwen is the one screwing him over.

Some interesting clues revealed about Bennet and Rosie's relationship. But, I think it's way premature to make him the number one prime suspect.

I think it still holds merit. They're probably just playing to the audience. We all think, oh, it's too obvious now. Then we eventually forget about it. And then in the end it turns out it was him all along. ...Maybe?

I'm almost certain it's Rick, Sarah's Fiance.

Not clue what his motive would be, but he's a massive creep.

That was the weakest part of the episode. I really hope we don't see more stuff like that.

In every scene he appears, I always expect him to kill someone.

His looks just don't help.

Since the first episode they've pretty much made him look like a complete tool, borderline worthless, moronic, etc., esp. compared to Sarah. If that's what they're going for, then great, but it's getting real old to me.

The teacher (Bennet) seems like a way too obvious red herring at this point. Richmond is starting to look like a person of interest, though, as well as the two closest people around him-which of course will change after next week's ep airs.

Spoiler:
The whole explanation about the bloody cage and such seemed a bit silly. Costume switch with a different girl? Nose bleeds? Okayyyyy...

Really, what the hell was that? I thought the explanation would've been fake blood since it was Halloween.

I thought it was interesting how the one kid sort of snickered when showed the video of him, the ex-bf and the girl. Me thinks there's a killing video.

I don't get why people seriously think Rick is the killer. It defies any logic that he could be involved. Is it really just because of how he looks and acts? If you're going to suspect someone just for being a skeevy looking fuck, you might as well toss Linden's scumbag partner in the mix with him.

Yeah cause god knows the killers entire motives have been laid out in the first 4 episodes excluding him....and nothing could be revealed later on that would link him to the crime...nothing.

I thought this the very first episode. He is creepy BTW.
