why arent more tv show dvds uncensored?
i was watching the jersey shore on netflix a few weeks ago and wondered why they kept all the beeps in. it made me wonder why they wouldnt release it uncensored for dvd.
obviously i get why sitcoms wouldnt. sometimes the joke works better with the beeps that were in the one episode of the series or it would probably upset some people. but for an adult themed show like jersey shore it makes no sense. hells kitchen would be great on dvd without the annoying beeps. im sure there are other examples but im tired and cant think.
didnt the osbournes have an uncensored dvd? or am i mistaken?

Good question, chino77! I've often wondered the same thing.
In Canada, Hell's Kitchen was shown uncensored on the Food Network, and has been released as such on DVD. I like Hell's Kitchen with the profanity in; I find it makes it more enjoyable.
The Osbournes was released uncensored as well. In fact, I remember watching it when it was first on, uncensored, during the 10PM hour.

go out of my way? its a few clicks on my remote. its not like i walked 10 miles in the snow to buy it at a flea market. besides the shows is so ridiculous, its good mindless fun. i avoided it like the plague until my girlfriend wanted to watch it. i turned it on expecting to ignore it and surf online. by the second episode i couldnt stop watching.

I find the idea of a censored "Real World" morally repugnant.
Why can't they put out a version that appeals to the GGW demographic, and shows what they are blurring dammit! What is the use of having night vision cameras, if i cannot see what is really going on in the dark?

Las Vegas did this on a couple of season sets. I was surprised the first time I was watching an episode and there were boobies poolside.

On the Arrested Development DVD, there's an extended version of the pilot where they don't bleep out the language and it's a bit jolting. The episodes are actually funnier with the bleeps (such as when Buster goes on his rant about his mother). Leaving the details to your imagination makes it all the more hilarious.

The Canadian version brings in other sources though, Food Network Canada is also the home for Top Chef in Canada,

weird...season 2 is censored on netflix.
i guess i should have looked on amazon. all they have is uncensored versions. i guess i just assumed that netflix would have the uncensored version if it was available.

I think that the beeps make Jersey Shore better. And what is with this constant backlash against Jersey Shore? Yes, it is mentioned a lot in the news, etc. But it's one thing to bash it after seeing a few episodes, but so many times it is based on just hearing news reports about the show or something. The actual threads for the show on this site reveal many people who initially wondered why the hell it was on the air (and I was also wondering this), but those people ended up hooked. I enjoy the show, I enjoy Breaking Bad and Mad Men too...lots of options!
