We learned Phillip can't saw either. And we saw some good bikinis.

I'm breaking a rule that I set for myself before this season by posting this, but when "pros" laugh at the camera in previous seasons about the losers crying about the conditions and getting their feelings hurt and then cries and cries and cries when he gets sent home it's ok to make fun of him for being a cry baby.
Stole this from another board. Pretty much sumarizes his time on Survivor to me.
A) Cried about not getting jury votes
B) Complained that the game was "flawed" because he didn't get jury votes.
C) Cried that his tribe voted him out
What a sore loser.

I know people dislike last season but seriously RI is stupid. Since we all knew Russell had a 50/50 shot at the challenge tonight it makes one of the biggest polarizing charecters boot episode anticlimactic. Going out last week being blindsided and the edit brilliantly fooling the viewers to think he survives would have gone down as an iconic survivor moment.
That doesn't even mention the fact the entire cast that is left is almost invisible with no air time besides Rob and Phillip and to a slight degree Ralph. Watching Rob play the same game he did in Marquesas and Heroes vs Villians is just as annoying as Russell presence the first few episodes.

A, B and C are all just results of him loving this game so much. I mean, it's so obvious. Plus you know that he should have won Samoa. And as for Heroes Vs Villains - he had decent points. But that is Survivor. You have to balance.
He's gone on to say that he's the best player as far as getting to the final, but he can never close. With this season, he was just with a group that knew too much about him and he didn't make the proper adjustments.
But as for playing the game, this season aside, he was awesome.

I guess I just hate having 75% of the entertainment sucked out of the show. At least Russell has personality, and regardless of how you all feel about him, people love to talk about him. The rest of this cast is bori-fuck-ing like the rest of the casts for the majority of the last few seasons (excluding all star seasons).

Yes, of course he does. He controls you through entertainment and laughter. Once you break free from this restraint you can join the ranks of the elite and watch the show how it was meant to be watched...in fits of rage. Therapy may get expensive, but at least you are no longer a puppet.

Your irrational hatred for a guy on a reality television show should be more of a concern than me liking the guy. Know that.

Okay, I never post about this show in depth, but I'll attempt to clarify my position for those of you unsure about what I was getting at.
First I all, I don't hate Russell as a person. But I'm tired of how much he has been forced upon viewers. I've always been a fan of the show and enjoyed seeing new casts each season and how their dynamic plays out. That to me is what the game is all about. When you keep bringing back the same people over and over again, it's not as fun. I posted when this season first started that I wanted both Russell and Rob out as soon as possible because the rest of the cast seemed like an interesting group on their own. So I'm a not Russell "hater" in the sense that some of you are assuming. I'm not personally offended by the man. I guess I much closer to a CBS Marketing hater.
Anyway, I have no problem if you like Russell and can certainly see how he can be entertaining to watch. What blows my mind though is how vigorously some people defend his honor every step of the way as if he is a member of their family. They take his criticisms personally like some of you did in this thread and continue to do. A few weeks ago I posted a much nastier comment about wanting that obnoxious girl to walk into oncoming traffic and nobody said a word. Yet I laugh at Russell for being a hypocrite and crying about being backstabbed and look at everything it stirred up.
So why do you guys take every negative comment about him so personally? Why does it matter so much that somebody else doesn't like him or has a negative comment about what he did on the show? I've never argued about him before now but I always see people go into long, nitpicky debates about every aspect of his character and it's bizarre.

Ditto. I would say Jeffs mancrush on Russell and the editors forcing him down peoples throat and making people think shitty gameplay is good because he has confessionals saying what a mastermind he is might be more annoying then Russell. Not to mention they ignore the majority of the cast to make him an overhwhelming focus.
Who knows if all the invisible people are actually boring. Tyson and Courtney had tons of hilarious snarky confessionals and were prominent entertaining charecter in their original seasons but were relegated to background charecters in Heroes vs villians and people might have thought they were just 2 boring people had they never seen them before.

Neither Russell nor Rob are the greatest players ever. In fact, you could argue they are the WORST. Imagine taking the same final exam over and over again. If you can't ace it knowing what to prepare for ahead of time, you deserve to fail.

Survivor seems much more like taking a final exam where not only do the answers change each time you take the test, but the correct answers are judged differently depending who grades the exam.

I'll miss Russell - for the personality, but more for the fact that he sends some people here into a tizzy. The show and threads will be far less entertaining now.
