Synopsis:

Spoiler:
After Zatanna sends a magically spiked bottle of champagne to Clark (Tom Welling) and Lois (Erica Durance) for their bachelor/bachlorette parties, the gang blacks out after the toast, only to wake up the next morning and realize they can't remember anything about the night before. While trying to retrace their steps, Lois realizes she lost her engagement ring and drags Oliver (Justin Hartley) back to the Fortune Casino where she thinks she lost it. The two run into Fortune (guest star James Kidnie), the eccentric casino owner, who accuses them of stealing money from him. Meanwhile, Clark tells Chloe (Allison Mack) he has a memory of stealing an armored truck the night before.

So... We get to see The Hangover 3: Fly You Drunk Bastard before The Hangover 2 has even hit theatres?

Oliver calling Lois' tits "the pointer sisters" was the highlight

Shame that this was probably the last episode for Zatanna. Such a waste.

Next week looks better.

I deleted the episode from my DVR 5 minutes in. I don't think I've ever done that. I just can't force myself to sit through this stuff anymore. There are much better shows on TV. The desire to see how it ends has faded significantly as instead of an exciting sprint to the end, it's a bunch of nothing.

I see they were trying to do a change of pace episode but they didn't exactly suceed.
Funny because the characters did some stuff we had not seen but other than that it was pretty bad.
So is Chloe gone for good or will she back before the show ends?

Re: Smallville -- "Fortune" -- 2/25/11

I actually found myself enjoying this episode. Maybe it was because I expected the worst but I found it a rather pleasant surprise. And I liked how Chloe mentioned Batman and Wonder Woman as people she'd met in her travels. I also like the last minute reveal with Oliver. I was fully expecting him to just let Chloe go.

Oh and Tess was looking hot, Chloe was as cute as ever, and the Lois cleavage...

My only gripe was that, although I get it was to force Lois and Oliver into the showgirl scenario, it was ridiculous that Ollie and Lois didn't just beat the shit out of the goons right from the start.

I also thought this episode was fun. I think this is just a case of something that your either going to like or hate. I think the haters are probably those frustrated about the show taking a diversion so late in the season with alot to wrap up by May.

Love this review on the episode. This guy really really hated this episode:

http://www.tvfanatic.com/2011/02/sma...eview-fortune/

It seems like this was a theme for the CW's Friday Night shows this and Supernatural were both just having some fun for 1 week.

I thought Tess and Chloe looked great, especially Tess. Loved the 60's Outfit she wore singing the Elvis covers with Emil.

You know I love Lois to death, but I wasn't a fan of that trashy leopard skin dress she wore.

at them watching the Hangover videos and Tess freaking out after seeing her do it with Emil.

I thought this was a weird send off for Allison Mack (If it's indeed her last episode) They already said at the beginning of the season she was only returning for a limited amount of episodes, but this was an odd episode to do it. With Chloe heading off for a job at Star City, I wonder what effect that has on Oliver the rest of the season? Maybe he will be with her "off screen" and casually mentioned, but still hang out in Metropolis.

to Chloe mentioning Batman and Wonder Woman.

Just for this being a self contained diversion episode, I would give this a C+

So you deleted the episode before the opening credits rolled? I get that your probably didn't care for this type of episode, but quitting the show this late?

But, how long have you watched the show? There is 7 episodes left this season. Quitting now is like stopping reading a 220 page book with 7 pages left.

But, I'm sure we're going to get alot of people posting about the 2 hour series finale in May who haven't watched since season 5 or 6 just because they want to see how it ends.

Re: Smallville -- "Fortune" -- 2/25/11

The time mentioned can more accurately be said "pretty quickly". I deleted it when they woke up after drinking the wine in the beginning. I've watched every episode since the pilot (sooner or later), but I'm more a fan of the genre than this particular show. Still, I've usually been able to sit through every episode it at some point. But in this case, I really did reach a tipping point and had no desire to watch any more. I haven't quit the show, but it was notable that I didn't just stop and say I'll watch it later. I actually deleted the episode so I can't go back and watch. That speaks to how little faith I have in the show at this point. If the next episode is about something I don't find exciting and entertaining, I'll skip that one too. I'm not forcing myself to watch this show anymore in the hopes that I don't miss something good. There are too many other shows that are actually good.

I thought it was a blast. Just a fun lighthearted episode with plenty of laughs once you get over the "Hangover" setup.

Clark running into the brick column had me .

I can understand people not wanting something so out there this late in the game, but I have more confidence that they'll wrap this up better than Lost did.

Re: Smallville -- "Fortune" -- 2/25/11

I don't mind the trying to throw in the 'good time fluff' now and again. It's part of what the series has always done. This one just didn't go over well with me either. I thought the Tess stuff was stupid for what her character is.

Seems like whenever Clark seems to grow a little they bring in a "fun" episode and notch him back down again with the silly. We'll see what next week brings. I didn't hate it, but it is a skipper on the re-watch.

When did Chloe become a superstud marksman? I suppose I could write that off to Zatanna's spell. Too bad Serinda Swan didn't actually appear in this episode.

I hope this isn't Allison's last episode.

Re: Smallville -- "Fortune" -- 2/25/11

On the rumor notes... What's the reliability of what IMDB has per episode? On several they have some of the suspect characters listed as "(rumor)", but for the finale..
Spoiler:
In a couple of episodes towards the end they have Lana listed as "rumored", but they don't have the rumor tag on her for the finale. Is that prolly just because of some flashback?

Seems like CW would bring this back in a next gen series somehow if Tom and Erica would. They could call it "Lois & Clark", and .. err, nevermind

Before this show ends Bruce Wayne or Diana Prince should make some kind of cameo.

The producers have said that character definitely isn't returning. I doubt anyone outside the production would know of any flashback occurring in the finale since they haven't started filming the episode yet. A lot of the IMDb credits are fan submitted.

I wouldn't doubt that at some point before the end, we'll see some archived footage of Lana.

Enjoyed Cassidy Freeman in this episode, as it was nice see her do something else besides play the coldhearted villain. The ending was a nice touch, too.

My DVR died to prevent itself from recording this. Luckily I got home in time for Supernatural! I can't care much that I missed it and now reading the comments won't even bother to see it online. I feel the same way. Just be over already so I can end my irrational obligation to this show.

I liked it alot. It seemed like a kind've palette cleanser before the final arc of the show kicks into high gear. +1 for Chloe getting hitched.

Re: Smallville -- "Fortune" -- 2/25/11

Hey guys, are you sure Chloe actually referenced Bruce Wayne and Diana Prince in this episode?

I mean I know they were purposely meaning Batman and Wonder Woman but I could have sworn Chloe meant Ollie as the "rich guy with the high tech gadgets" and was referencing Lois as a "Wonderous Woman" to Clark.
