The Cape -- "The Lich (Part 2)" -- 02/21/11

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Synopsis:

Spoiler:
THE CAPE MUST RELY ON DANA TO HELP RESCUE ORWELL FROM THE LICH–The Cape (David Lyons), Max (Keith David) and Rollo (Martin Klebba) are forced to rely on Dana’s (Jennifer Ferrin) legal connections to help them discover The Lich’s whereabouts. Heavily entranced by Conrad Chandler’s (The Lich) potent serum, Orwell (Summer Glau) struggles to fight off the physiological and mental effects of the strong dose. Meanwhile, Netta’s (guest star Illeana Douglas) strange loyalty to The Lich is clarified. In a sedated, weak state, Orwell drifts between reality and fantasy sequences, which slowly reveal her history and past.

The show may have its issues yet I enjoy it every week. A good amount of the type of shows I like do not do well on Major networks.

LOL, I don't watch this show anymore but I just saw the promo and have to ask this: What drugs are the writers on? How would the wife not recognize her husband talking to her, even if he was wearing a mask?

At least have a finale and a big showdown with Chess and reveal the Capes Identity to his wife.

If the show had life maybe they could have Orwell trying to hook up romantically with the Cape and a possible dilemna between trying to stay loyal to Dana or hook up with Orwell.

I enjoyed this episode but didn't love it. But it was much better than part one. That said, it seems the wife did recognize the Cape. Even if the voice and face weren't the reasons why. Of all things, it was a hand gesture.

Still, I rather liked this one.

This ep was a mixed bag. The Lich came off more silly than threatening (it was a big mistake making him up like Heath Ledger's Joker - no way could this actor live up to that). I also didn't find it plausible that The Cape's wife wouldn't recognize him on the roof.

I did like Orwell's dream stuff, though. And the Carnival of Crime is always fun.

I got a chuckle that Orwell would actually list the Cape's number as "The Cape" on her cell phone.
