Puppy Bowl VII

Once again Super Bowl Sunday brings us the genius that is Puppy Bowl!

I can imagine that the genesis of Puppy Bowl started back in a conference room at the Animal Planet:

"Super Bowl's coming up. What are we going to put on against it."
"We could show a rerun."
"Are you crazy? We'd actually have to pay royalties for that. And besides, everybody in the world is going to be watching the Super Bowl. We might as well broadcast a test pattern."
"Yeah, either that or just put a bunch of puppies on a little football field and watch them play with each other for 2 hours."
"That's a great idea!"

And so Puppy Bowl was born...

Since the real game ends so early on the West Coast we usually come down off our nachos and beer high by staring mindlessly at the Puppy Bowl. Plus it helps encourages guests to leave.

Better than listening to Irvin, Jimmy Johnson, and Jerry Jones talk about the 90s, that's for sure!

I didn't see them although there were chihuahuas dressed as cheerleaders.

Re: Puppy Bowl VII

They called them chicken cheerleaders, but they were roosters.

Also, I saw during one of the commercial breaks that Animal Planet would be playing Fatal Attraction. That seems a little messed up.

Re: Puppy Bowl VII

I watched this for about 10 minutes. Puppies are so cute. I can watch dogs play all day and when my dog was alive, I did.

Re: Puppy Bowl VII

Wasn't keen on this round of mutts. They were all mixed breeds and some ugly mixes at that. Bring in some pure breds already.

Re: Puppy Bowl VII

I would much rather watch this than the actual Superbowl.
Loved it.
