Re: Glee -- "the Sue Sylvester Bowl Shuffle" -- 2/6/11 Approx 10:30 start time
Being off the show for months and putting it on after Superbowl? It'll be back Tuesday with a new episode, and I doubt many of the tweens who watch Glee will be watching the Superbowl... This is just a weird decision by Fox. They should have tried to launch a new show or at least an existing one that could have grown (Raising Hope, Chicago Code)
I would rather have seen Chicago Code here myself though, which is a pretty good suggestion (albeit pretty risky for a pilot).

With all the hype around this episode, I'm pretty sure most who watch Glee are gonna watch tonights episode, and of course the drunks too lazy to change the channel. Now what will be interesting is to see how many people end up watching tuesdays episode. Will it get the usual 11 million viewers, or will it get higher ratings due to tonights

Isn't that the point though? You're leading in with the Superbowl. The Gleeks are going to watch either way. FOX is grabbing all the folks who don't normally watch it.

But this is not a show the Superbowl people will actually want to watch (especially since it will be tough to follow with the storyline). That's why a more grittier show might work (Chicago Code). Eh, whatever. In a way, I'm glad it's Glee and not the Chicago Code because I want that show to fail so other Bubble shows have a chance of coming back (Fringe, Lie to Me).

Misfit kids sing show tunes and get picked on in school. Oh and the gay kid gets picked on more than the others. There, everyone is caught up.

Glee is going to have it's highest ratings ever tonight but so would anything else. Will people continue to tune in next week? I doubt it.
My most memorable post SB show was the Wonder Years pilot. I think it works best when launching a new show or rebooting a show ala Alias.

Well, it does have an ongoing storyline and if this episode still has Kurt vs. the Gay Bully...yeah, might be tough for new viewers. I know it's singing/dancing, but it's not like an episode of Bones where it's self contained.

Undercover Boss did pretty good last year, but it's fizzled out a bit.
I remember The Wonder Years. Such a great Pilot.
IIRC (not an Alias watcher), didn't every think that Alias started to suck after the Alias Superbowl episode?

Was there a writer's strike or something? I think they let Becky write the script for this episode.

This was a really weak episode. It's like they expected a 3 minute Thriller number to carry an entire 65 minute show. And the Thriller segment wasn't even that impressive. Very disappointing.

Loved it. Great Sue stuff, some awesome musical numbers, and interesting character moments. Glad they didn't wrap up everything in a bow.
Glad the show is back! Though I did think "DVDTalk is going to hate that" more than once

If anything was good in the world, this show would actually go down in ratings on Tuesday after this debacle.

For the most part I liked this ep.
I didn't care for the Kurt & pal injection or Sue's Godzilla-like tirade, but I liked the musical numbers and some of the jokes we're pretty funny.
The Mama Canon having fibromyalgia had me .

If I didn't like the show, I wouldn't watch. If I thought one episode was awful, I'd shut it off permanently.
Never understood why people seem to enjoy coming on here to complain about the hour of their lives they chose to waste. I genuinely enjoyed the episode. Don't see any difference between my praise and those who complain.
