Great episode--boy this season has really picked up.
Though what's with the cold open this week? It just seemed to cut off all the sudden, like they forgot the punchline. Oh well, LOVED the rest.

I just wondered why Pam thought that was even a good idea to begin with given that she knows how big of miserable buzz kills everyone else in the office can be. How did she expect them to react?

She wanted to do something as office administrator, and everybody actually participated until Michael's antics, so it was partially successful. In the past, Angela, Ryan and probably Stanley would have ignored the whole resolution thing. But then again, like people said, Jim and Pam wouldn't do it either...or Jim would put something simplistic, like he does with Halloween costumes.
But yeah, where the hell was Jim?

Erin is the new MVP of the show. From the champagne wet tshirt dance, to the cartwheel, to the steadfast hatred of Holly, she's gold when she's on the screen.

I fell out of my chair when Michael was talking to Holly about how old phones are better than new phones then picked up his old flip phone (saying it was indestructible) and slams it down on the desk, completely shattering it. Classic.

Erin is like Michael's character. When they go too extreme and make her flat out stupid rather then innocently naive, she's absolutely dreadful. I thought she was just right in this episode.

Interesting this was your first post, what brought you in?

I've watched The Office since the beginning (and the BBC version before that) and read a lot of posts here. I always find it fascinating how different people can react regarding comedy. It has to be the most difficult to write for since opinions vary so widely. Nearly every show you'll find someone who hates it, loves it, couldn't fine one thing funny, laughed the entire time, or refuses to watch, etc...
I decided to post because I laughed really hard at a joke for the first time in months at ANY show and since no one had mentioned the joke in the thread, I popped in.
It takes a lot to make me bust a gut. Like George Carlin HBO territory circa 1982.

been a while since I've seen a good episode of the Office ... this was one
the only thing that I didn't care for was that silly shot of Daryl, Andy, and Dwight dancing together

I don't watch EVERY show. But what was up with the swearing? There were bleeps and distortion, like, five or seven times. Was it some 'in' joke or something?

absolutely! We routinely get emails from our office admin where she opens with, "Hi, it's 'Mom' again". Cause it's always stuff about cleaning the fridge, not putting dirty dishes in the break room sink, etc.
