The Simpsons -- "Flaming Moe" -- 01/16/11

Really? How many plots have revolved around Moe creating a new 'theme' for his place? At one of them turned it into a 'trendy lounge' too.

Is this the first time they've actually said Smithers is gay? Seems all the other times, it was hinted at but not outright stated.

And they completely addressed that in the episode too.

Yeah, the fact that they addressed the ridiculousness of Moe changing his bar so many times over the years totally redeemed the plot for me.

The show's been around a long time...I'm fine with them rehashing some plots as long as it's still funny and this one was. Plus them bringing up the fact that the plot was rehashed was even better.

I thought it was solid. I loved the decal pretzels that Homer choked on and the decal first aid kit that he clawed at while choking. I liked Homer coming into Burns' office and yelling "Aaaa, dinosaur!" Plenty of funny moments for me.

The title of this episode is also a reference to an older episode. Back when Homer invented a drink called a Flaming Homer. Moe stole it and called it a Flaming Moe.

I liked the music teacher saying the new teacher only needed to teach the girl "with the starfish head."

I thought it was a pretty solid ep.
Plenty of funny stuff, as far as I was concerned.
