Recording stops before the show is over on the UVerse DVR. Any solutions?

My mother has AT&T UVerse and records "Days of our lives" daily on her DVR. Normally it records the full hour of the show no problem. However, this past couple of days it has only recorded the first 33, or first 40 minutes before ceasing recording. She has more than adequate space on the DVR, and her recordings of "Jeopardy" and "Hawaii 5-0" are unaffected.

Aside from "turning it off and turning it on again", which we won't know will work until tomorrow, what solutions can I explore? Has this happened before to you?

Also, "stop watching Days" isn't helpful; I've suggested that for years.

In the case of my TiVo, recordings that stopped before the scheduled end time was an indication of initial hard drive failure.

But, if it's only happening with one specific show, I can't guess what the problem might be.
