They have a right to say no. He has a right to respond. I have a right to not care about either of them and just enjoy the show.

Really he has no right to respond. He's disparaging another artist because they don't want their music on his show? It's extremely petty and mean spirited.

Maybe because Ryan wanted to upstage the Sing Off version....

He makes it sound like he's doing the show as some sort of public service. Never mind that the show is, frankly, horrible, it's just a damn TV show, nothing more.

Who, Ryan Murphy or Caleb Followill?

And Glee a kids show? Not the episodes I've been watching.

Murphy, acting like he's God's gift to television.

I must have missed the lesbian-make-out scenes in the shows I watch with my kids. I'll have to pay closer attention.

You didn't watch Power Rangers closely enough.

He's a royal dick and his show is starting to suck.

I hate KOL, hate them. But Ryan is starting to push me into being a fan of how they told him to fuck off.

Murphy needs to get off his high horse. It's so ridiculous hearing him talk about Glee as though it is God's gift to mankind and this important public service. It's a TV show that started off really great, but has quickly overextended itself and is nowhere near the quality it was in the first season.

It's nice to see artists refusing to turn over their licenses though, if only because it's funny to see Murphy get so upset about being told "no."

a 7-year-old kid can see someone close to their age singing
I wouldn't let my y-year-old child watch Glee. And the characters in Glee and the actors who play them are not at all close in age to 7-year-olds.

Not to mention the fact that he threw any opportunity of future collaboration out the window.

What I find irresponsible is Murphy essentially saying that a 7-year-old should be watching Glee. Not most of the eps I've been watching!

If by kids you mean teenagers, then I agree.

I didn't mind the Lady Gaga, Britney Spears or Madonna themed episodes. I can't stand Justin Bieber at all. I agree with a lot of stuff said about Ryan Murphy. He's on a high horse and he and the writing staff ignore a lot of character development issues. Season 2 of Glee has been ok at times. I do give RM some credit for focusing on struggles of gay teens but Kurt's storyline has become an overkill on the show.

As long as they fully explore Bieber's back catalog and deep cuts, I'm all for this.

Oh, nobody mentioned his deep cuts. I'm there...

Hopefully they focus more on his 80's new wave catalog, as opposed to his mid-90's grunge phase.

His 70s classics or fail

Apparently Justin Timberlake turned down a Glee apperance, can't wait for Murphy's freak out on that.

Timberlake seems more likeable every year removed from N'Sync.

I'm not a big JT fan by any means, but the decision doesn't seem to make a lot of sense to me.

"No, I don't want to let you use my music on a show that is pretty popular and will pay me money to use my songs".

It is pretty odd. Maybe he wanted more money, or maybe he thought the Glee cast would do a better job with his songs than he does, talent-wise and sales-wise.

Having never seen Glee, my response is Bieber seems more of a fit with Glee than Journey... Also, I completely understand Kings of Leon's denial. I mean, yeah, kids now have heard of "Don't Stop Believin'" but they think of it as a ballad sung by a teenage girl with a bad synth-pop accompaniment rather than the pounding rock song it originally was.

I guess it's out of the realm of possibility that any artist simply doesn't like this show or it's creator?

I don't think Timberlake is hurting financially right now, and it's up to him where and when his songs should be used.

I stopped watching a couple of months ago. Too many guest stars and band/artist-themed shows.

I'm out as well, I can't believe how fast this show went downhill, record time!
