I'm not sure how the numbers are calculated anymore -- but my wife and I NEVER watch any series show live. I'm guessing we're like most people.

Ryan's daughter looked like a Lizard/Seahorse in that tank.

Best part of the episode was Anna's tail coming out and then she sliced and diced one of the mother ship captains. The tail did look 100% CGI produced. At least we got a pretty good look at what the V's look like under the skin.

Surprised to see Joshua's memory wiped out of him being part of the 5th Column. I'll have to got back and check out my Blu-Ray of season 1, but did something happen to him in last season's finale after he was captured that would have caused the memory loss?
agreed, .. glad its back. pretty good ep.

I'm not sure what Anna's end game is, as I had been thinking that she'd want to convert many of the humans into pseudo-slaves to help maintain the planet and perhaps do the work or "mining" to get at the minerals they wanted. I figured that she wants something from the humans, or else she could likely just kill them all off, as has been mentioned by 5th column characters on the show.

I never thought her endgame was to breed with humans. Maybe so though.

I thought there was something with Tyler and his mother and with the backstory of him supposedly "not being the son" of his father. There seemed to be some story there that will come out. Maybe Tyler is part V or has some kind of relation to being V (like some dna or something)? But, it does appear that for whatever reason Anna has specifically picked out Tyler.

Not sure on Joshua's memory loss. I was wondering for a second whether the being was an impostor? But, apparently not. I can't recall anything that would relate to his memory loss, as he was shot in the chest. Perhaps V's have their memory there. ... I do remember that Erica's FBI partner who was revived after she stabbed/killed him early on in season 1 had lost his memory, too. Eventually, his amnesia started to leave and his memory came back so that he remembered that it was Erica who knew about him and had stabbed him. Of course, Joshua killed him off before he could say anything. I guess perhaps that we have Joshua's memory returning, as well, to look forward to.

Good ep though ... looking forward to next week's.

Did Laura's character shed more than her clothes in this ep.? Haven't seen it yet on my DVR.

Aww, I was expecting the episode to use Peter Gabriel's song "Red Rain".

Just her dress and you saw her black bra and panties.

Re: "V" -- Season Premiere -- "Red Rain" -- 1/04/11

Just finished viewing it. My overall impression: bits of an intriguing story with a whole lot of "meh" feeling. Right now if this show got canned after these ten eps, I wouldn't feel as though I was losing anything substantial from my DVR list. They should just can this show and Laura Vandervoort should try to get a job on Hawaii-Five-O being a partner of Grace Park, and they could both run around in bikinis. Nice Untouchables homage with Anna beating that other V with her tail.

Also, while the appearance of Diana was well done, you cannot tell me they would have given her that name and done it in that nature if Jane Badler was a no-go.

I didn't watch the first season but tuned in to this premiere. Not bad.
Why they just didn't continue the old show, since they are now adding old cast members, I do not know? I guess to get old fans to watch; the ones that were ignored the first season?

These are my sentiments as well. This series is starting to feel more and more like First Wave. I like it but nothing is happening.

I'm confused....The show is in it's 2nd season and is 13 episodes old and your saying that nothing is happening. Season 1 set up the whole arc and introduced us to all the characters including the V's. Erica and Jack discovered the V's were bad and joined the revolt. Season 2 appears to be moving the story forward with the 5th Column's revolt and Anna engaging her plan of attack on Humans. I mean seriously how fast do you want them to move?

Re: "V" -- Season Premiere -- "Red Rain" -- 1/04/11

This show is on the bubble for me. Opening with a dream sequence was cheap. I suspected it was a dream sequence before she found her son and was pretty sure it was even before the face melty bit, which was actually pretty gory for network TV.

Mostly I was just bored. Yeah, stuff happened but it wasn't done in a very compelling way. To be fair, I was a little distracted and impatient when I watched it, but it's the same feeling I got from season 1 much of the time. There is something about the writing or directing, maybe the score, that just makes the show drag in many scenes.

The show still has that very "made for TV" feel to it. The world is not very immersive, it definitely lacks the cinematic feel a modern network show should have. Basically it feels cheap, which I think it is, but they aren't doing a good job of hiding it.

PS. I really wish they would give this show a subtitle or something because googling for "V" reviews, news, etc really sucks.

Didn't the original mini-series cover the same ground in about a half hour.

Re: "V" -- Season Premiere -- "Red Rain" -- 1/04/11

Yeah, but that was a mini-series. I think the pace is fine and it allows for more backstory like the finding of the V skeleton or the sleeping torture chamber, which IMO is a ruse to throw off the Fifth Column.

The irony here is that when it premiered one of the primary complaints seemed to be that it was too much plot and information too fast.
