Yes, it's true. The brilliant HBO dramatic series Big Love has its final season coming in just a month, so I figured we should start a discussion thread. I'll post articles and such here, but will try not to have much in the way of spoilers.
Here are two teaser trailers. The first has no info from the upcoming season, just arty. The second gives us an idea where this season is headed -- and it doesn't look too fun for the Hendricksons.

I know last season took a lot of heat, most of it well deserved, but for most of its run it's been brilliant. I really hope it's true that the producers genuinely felt it was time to wrap it up and didn't feel pressure after one poor season. Personally, I'm going to miss these characters a lot. I expected it to go 6 or 7 seasons.

I've heard it's also just 10 episodes and not the usual 12. There was some scheduling reason that they used to explain that for last season, so it's also disappointing that the final season will not be 12 episodes (if what I've heard is true).

I'm optimistic the creative team will correct the wrongs of last season and improve this in its final season -- looking forward to it

I was done with Big Love after the slog that was last season, but seeing that this is the last season, and it's bounced back, I'm all excited again.

Still, I'm really happy this will be the end. They could probably go 7 seasons, but I like knowing that this is the last stretch I'll have with these characters going into this season. It raises the stakes.

FINALLY! It feels like forever since the last season! I am glad they are wrapping it up though. The long stretches between seasons sucked, but the story is just getting to messed up to sort through any more. I still love the show, but I'm ready for it to be done.

In the right situation, I could have followed the show a lot longer than just this final season. However, last season was pretty below par, and is a good indication it's about time for it to end. I'll miss the girls, though.

I put this off for a long time. My wife would mention how much she liked it when she was traveling and has access to HBO. I couldn't understand her enthusiasm because I thought it was a documentary. Once I found out it wasn't we caught up on DVD.

Now we're totally hooked. Looking forward to the final season. I agree, it's probably run its course. Things got a little crazy last season but all of the previews I've seen for this season make it look like it's going to be good!

Yeah really thought it was a good season opener... Will be interesting to see where these guys end up at. I will have to say that as disappointing as last season was, I will miss Nikki, Margene, and Barb and their interactions.

Nikki has come on strong for me. Margie is slipping, and I get shades of the Dexter series with the self help guy.

It was a little too down an opener for me. Realistic, considering the shit-storm we all expected after last season's finale, but still I was hoping for a little more levity. I'm curious to see where this season goes. Really happy they brought George Itzin in as the political heavy -- I don't care that I've seen it all before, he does it so well.

Good episode. The show can really paint a picture of doom and gloom. They've done this sort of thing very well in this series a few times - tonight being no exception.

Margie dropping 2 f-bombs back-to-back was great. You don't expect to hear it in this show at all, nevermind it coming from Margie.

It's nice to see Nikki dressed in more fashionably and with an updated hairdo.

Glad they got rid of Teeny, but the way it was ond was kind of cheese. It's almost as bad as doing a Chuck Cunningham.

Well, they wrote out Teeny at the end of season 3 for awhile, and I guess she's permanently written out now. I thought they were going to try to bring back Amanda Seyfried for an appearance this year though.

Maybe I remember wrong, it's been awhile since I've seen those episodes, but I thought they bought Weber Gaming/the casino so they would have a source of income in case the polygamy came out. Didn't Chakotay and the Windtalker already know that Bill was a polygamist?
