The Borgias (Showtime 2011 Series)

Starring Jeremy Irons as Pope Alexander VI (aka Rodrigo Borgia) and created by Neil Jordan (The Crying Game, Interview With the Vampire). It's a historical drama in the tradition of The Tudors and Rome, this time focusing on the infamous Borgia family of Renaissance Italy. Looks like there will be tons of plotting, betrayal, sex, and backstabbing (probably literally). People sure knew how have fun back then! I love historical dramas and getting to see them on TV over multiple seasons is great as opposed to a 2 hour movie.

Yeah, 2011 looks to be a good year for some historical drama. Starz also plans on developing a follow-up to Pillars of the Earth (though likely not expected to air until 2012).

'The Borgias' Cancelled: Showtime Axes Papal Series After Three Seasons

I enjoyed watching the series. I was hoping for at least one more season or a 2 hour movie to end it better.
