Running Wilde -- The Final Episodes thread -- Burnoff begins 11/30/10

Synopsis for Mental Flaws (11/30):

Spoiler:
Emmy agrees to go with Steve to a charity ball, where she intends to teach him a lesson about valuing women for more than their physical beauty.

Yes, the show is dead.

FOX's burnoff schedule is as follows:

Tuesday 12/7 -- episode 8 9:30pm
Sunday 12/12 -- episode 9 7pm
Sunday 12/19 -- episode 10 7pm
Sunday 12/26 -- episode 11 7pm
Tuesday 12/28 -- episode 12/13 (series finale) 9pm

So, here's one last thread for this show for anyone who wants to share their thoughts. The show had it's moments, but got off to a horrible start and it didn't help that FOX aired episodes out of order.

Yikes, Sundays at 7PM?

I've only watched a few episodes on my DVR, but I'll probably burn through the others at some point too. Not he greatest show, from what I could tell, but not a total stinker, either.

What a total stinker this show was. Was wondering when they were going to air the rest of the episodes.

Ouch. That's where Fox puts shows that they know are dead. That's one of the multitude of time slots they tried to put Married With Children on in its' last year.

Is there ever a show that actually gets shown at 7pm on Fox on Sunday's? Football always over runs and I don't think Fox does like CBS and pushes everything back.

Which would be why a lot of America never saw some of the last season of MwC.

I enjoy the show, but I'm fine with it being only one season. There wasn't really anywhere else to go with it in future seasons.

I like the show as well, unfortunately I'll never see it on DVD much less Blu. It's very quirky and sometimes too quirky, and unfortunately much of it not funny at all. That said I still laughed quite a bit.

I liked this show. It wasn't brilliant like "Arrested Development" (which set a very, very high bar), but it made me laugh. In fact, I think it provided my biggest laugh of any show this season when Fa'ad did his Alan Alda impersonation.

I hope Peter Serafinowicz gets some more US work after this.

It wasn't the worst thing on TV, and was usually was good for a few chuckles. But I won't miss it much. Also agree that I can't see where it would go anyway, as they are already rehashing similar plots.

Re: Running Wilde -- The Final Episodes thread -- Burnoff begins 11/30/10

Thought it was odd that a repeat aired last night. Now it all makes sense.

FOX to Drop "Running Wilde" from Lineup

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- The news is about to get worse for FOX's "Running Wilde."

In addition to last night's installment being dropped in favor of a repeat, FOX has also pulled upcoming originals on December 19, December 26 and December 28.

Repeats of "The Simpsons" and "The Cleveland Show" will sub in for the series on December 19 and December 26, respectively, while an extra hour of "Glee" will fill the Tuesday, 9:00/8:00c hour on December 28.

In addition, encores of the series will wrap in the Saturday, midnight/11:00c slot on January 1. The network had previously planned to keep repeats of the series in the late-night slot (a la "Brothers" last season).

It's not clear what will fill said half-hour come January 8. (Repeats of "The Good Guys" are still a go on Saturdays at 11:00/10:00c, as previously reported.)

As for the five remaining original episodes of "Running Wilde," network sources insist they'll turn up at a later date.

Re: Running Wilde -- The Final Episodes thread -- Burnoff begins 11/30/10

There were some very funny moments on the show but the storyline always came down to exactly one thing: Steven and Emmy want to tell each other how they feel but for whatever reason they decide that they can't so everyone is supposed to read each others' mind. Then at the end, everyone is honest with each other. I can't think of a single episode that didn't have this as its overall premise.

Fa'ad was a riot, though, every time.

Re: Running Wilde -- The Final Episodes thread -- Burnoff begins 11/30/10

I was planning on finishing the series up, but once I read that annoucement that the next few installments have been dropped, I just went ahead and deleted the series and the last 3 episodes saved on my DVR. Oh well another one bites the dust. I wonder if Arnett may possibly return to 30 Rock or Parks and Recreation in guest appearances now that he's free.

I'm contemplating deleting the episodes I've saved up as well, for the same reason. What are the idea that Lionsgate will put the episodes on DVD?

Probably pretty good since they can advertise "FROM THE CREATOR OF 'ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT' on the cover.

Re: Running Wilde -- The Final Episodes thread -- Burnoff begins 11/30/10

Most shows now have a DVD release clause in the contract before the first episode airs. I have little doubt that this show will be on DVD soon, and I'll definitely be buying it.

Also, I wish Fa'ad could get transferred to a new show, ala Richard Belzer. Maybe he could go bankrupt and move into the Raising Hope neighborhood.

Msg to Hollywood:

Please cast Kerri Russell in something else while she's still hot.

Something that shows alot of leg with her wearing heels.
