I guess I'm the only one who doesn't know who Olivia Munn is?

NBC should have moved Parenthood to the Wednesday 9 p.m. timeslot, and left Chase where it was on Monday.

Re: NBC Modifies Thursday Night Comedy Block (1/20/11)
Here's the Wikipedia description of Perfect Couples:
"Perfect Couples revolves around three unique couples at various stages in their relationships, yet who face similar problems." Doesn't that describe about a zillion sitcoms? |
Re: NBC Modifies Thursday Night Comedy Block (1/20/11)
I don't see this as a death sentence for Outsourced. I'd see the 8:30 slot behind the great but getting slaughtered Community as a death sentence. NBC should be looking to maximize the 30 Rock holdover for the local news audience. They didn't choose P&R for that job. They didn't choose the new show. They chose Outsourced.

Re: NBC Modifies Thursday Night Comedy Block (1/20/11)
Apparently Munn plays a character named "Maria" who marries a much older man named "Ray".

Re: NBC Modifies Thursday Night Comedy Block (1/20/11)
I can't wait until the 1st Perfect Couples thread with the following quote from someone:
"Olivia Munn is hot, but can't act for shit. I'm done with this show." |

Parks returning - |
Re: NBC Modifies Thursday Night Comedy Block (1/20/11)
How Adam Carolla's shows always get passed on is baffling, considering the tripe in NBC's lineup that made the cut instead. Especially when you consider a show starring such a no talent as Olivia Munn can make the grade. Bizarre.
I'll be the lone guy to stand up and say I like Reiser. I don't know much about the show, but I'll check it out. Isn't that the one that Jorge Garcia (Hurley from Lost) is going to be on? |

Hopefully the Thursday night lineup works, but I think its safe to say Outsourced is screwed now. |
Re: NBC Modifies Thursday Night Comedy Block (1/20/11)
Would have preferred to see 30 Rock at 9:30 but Parks and Rec is a fun show.
|
Re: NBC Modifies Thursday Night Comedy Block (1/20/11)
Although Wednesday's 9 p.m. timeslot has Criminal Minds and 30 minutes of Modern Family (Cougar Town loses over 1/3 of the MF lead-in), Parenthood is a 9 p.m. show, not a 10 p.m. show, which is why it get 5 million viewers at 10 p.m., but should do better in the earlier timeslot. NBC would be happy if Parenthood could keep the L&O SVU ratings of 7-8 million viewers on Wednesday at 9 p.m. L&O SVU should be able to still snag 7-8 million viewers in the 10 p.m. timeslot, be it on Monday-Wednesday. IMO, NBC gains a net 2 million viewers by moving Parenthood to a 9 p.m. timeslot.

Re: NBC Modifies Thursday Night Comedy Block (1/20/11)
I'm glad Community is still holding up at 8. I hope it stays.
|
Re: NBC Modifies Thursday Night Comedy Block (1/20/11)
Considering Chase is barely hovering around 5M viewers and about 1.5 in the demos, I think Parenthood will probably pull in about the same numbers in the Monday at 10pm timeslot. One of the problems I read for Parenthood is more than half it's audience doesn't watch the show live (all DVR) probably because it's on at 10pm and families can't watch it together.

I was looking forward to that show. |
Re: NBC Modifies Thursday Night Comedy Block (1/20/11)
bad news for the Event. Sounds like this is a one season and done series. No way it recovers from a Flash Forward hiatus.

Re: NBC Modifies Thursday Night Comedy Block (1/20/11)
Thought they would have just dropped Outsourced. Pumped for Parks & Rec coming back.
|
Re: NBC Modifies Thursday Night Comedy Block (1/20/11)
I could careless when they air them as I watch them On Demand. But since I watch them On Demand I was unaware of the hatred for Outsourced around here. I love the show...it's my favorite new comedy right after Raising Hope.

Re: NBC Modifies Thursday Night Comedy Block (1/20/11)
I don't hate the show, I just think it's boring.

Granted, having Chuck and Cape as lead ins is a bit odd, but who knows? |
