Re: Chuck -- "Chuck Versus the Fear of Death" -- 11/15/10

It was a good episode; although some things could be seen from a mile away, still good.

I wasn't crazy about Casey's ending speech, though. Jeff and Lester just keep getting even more annoying. (Not that I wouldn't mind replacing Vic and Scott with Summer in the show, even without their characters being annoying.) Part of their charm used to be that they'd be over the top. Not they're just way too ridiculous/really charicatures.

Lots of good guest stars this season. Really packed in a lot of them in the first 1/3 of the season.

Re: Chuck -- "Chuck Versus the Fear of Death" -- 11/15/10

meh, I thought this was a step back from the previous two episodes.

I liked Rob Riggle's character, too bad they killed him off tonight.

The Buy More story was, outside of Summer Glau's hotness, boring.

One of the better episodes of the season. It reminded me of season one for some reason, I enjoyed it.

Really solid.

I must say, I've never understood the geek love for Glau. I've never even thought she was all that good looking as she is usually rail thin, but she must have gained a few before that guest stint. She looked amazing.

Actually they're beyond annoying in this episode. I mean WTF? Everyone was telling them to leave Greta alone and yet they continued to antagonize her. Honestly, THEY should have been the ones fired. If they are genuinely as moronic as everyone says, how do they survive on the Geek Squad?

I agree. Though it seemed odd that they pull Glau for a single episode.

Honestly, had I known this was going to be a two-parter, I'd have held off watching it until next week with part 2.

Liked the episode. Wish Riggle's character could have survived for another appearance.

The Subway product placements are starting to get on my nerves, though.

I knew Riggle's character was a goner but he was absolutely stealing the how. I want a spin off.

The real reason is to keep the male viewers watching, which I for one have no problem with

If it keeps the show on the air, I wouldnt care if they sat down and ate Subway for 2-3 min each episode.

I enjoyed the mini-reunion scene between Jayne and River.

She was still rail thin here.

Glau's allure comes from her roles I guess. First River Tam, then the Terminator... and she has a certain unique non-bimbo smart look

Re: Chuck -- "Chuck Versus the Fear of Death" -- 11/15/10

I thought the episode was so-so. The "let's put Chuck in mortal danger" was over the top. Would have been better if the guy had a conversation with Beckman about it and then tricked Chuck into it.

I didn't mind Jeff and Lester too much. I laughed out loud at a lot of their scenes, especially Jeff's Cialis comment. Too funny. Btw, Yvonne looked better than normal in that scene and that's not easy to do!

I did like Sarah's lashing out at Chuck. You could tell from Casey's reaction that even he thought that was low. Ouch!

If Chuck does get tortured it will be an interesting spin given the previous events of Beefcake. He's now in Cole's shoes if you will.

Hopefully this glitch in the intersect is sorted out next week ... at least this episode broke tradition and had Chuck captured rather than his "can't flash but inadvertently save the day" usual.

I'm not one to submit to product placement or other advertising, but damn if I didn't crave a sub just like that after the scene where she cuts it in half! Greta and I have the exact same tastes in subs and toppings!

I don't mind it, though. It is only occasionally, it is kind of funny now, and it helps pay the bills.

I am also in the (seemingly) minority that enjoy the Jeff/Lester scenes. They are usually just side gags, and that makes the caricatures OK with me and worth a chuckle.

I thought it was a fun and entertaining episode.

I love the Jeffster and Buy More stuff.

I still can't believe how mismanaged this whole weird "Greta" storyline was, so I'm glad that is (apparently) over.

Glau's appeal is that she was in something made by Whedon.

...and she's very talented, and smokin' hot, and was awesome in The Sarah Connor Chronicles.

I would say my reason supersedes all those for the internet community

Although personally, I don't think she's shown anything as far as being "very talented" and I don't consider her "smokin' hot" either. She's just ok in both regards, in my opinion.

Surprised no one's mentioned how last week they had 007 as the guest star and this week they got the original Jason Bourne.
