What does he care? He is probably worth $200M

I think he cares.

He was clearly upset and disappointed when nbc fired him from the tonight show and while TBS gave him a really good show he didn’t pretend for a second that he wanted to be on the other show.

It's very close to PlutoTV, essentially, a lot of the same content, even.

How does any of that have any bearing on this? He recently sold his highly successful podcast company to SiriusXM. If he cared so much he wouldn't have made this deal. He has the rights to his content so clearly he had the ability to not do this deal.

He is going to appear on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon next Tues April 9, 2024.

Maybe this will be his first appearance on NBC since 2010 when he left the Tonight Show?

Per this artilce:
https://variety.com/2024/tv/news/con...ng-1235959922/

The occasion will mark O’Brien’s first in-person return to the network’s late night programming, though he previously appeared in a pre-recorded sketch on “The Tonight Show” in 2018 alongside Stephen Colbert.
The emphasis on "late night" suggests maybe he's appeared on NBC's morning show Today or something else.

They forgot that Covid opening that appeared on all the 3 letter networks with all the hosts to respond after Trump bashed them.

Conan will a lot more exciting guest compared to Hillary Clinton and Dr. Phil this week on Fallon.

Yuk

I thought Fallon was suppose to be the hip and exciting fun show and all the boring guests go to Colbert.

America, being a country of mostly idiots, loves people who go by Doctor _____.

The Doctor makes them seem authoritative, and the them going by their first name makes them seem like regular folk.

Only watched the clips of Conan on Fallon on YouTube. I guess they cut out the parts where he ripped into Leno. :( But he did make at least three different references to Batman.

Wow, Conan fucking brings it to Hot Ones!
Probably the funniest, craziest episode yet.

That was definitely a top 3 Hot Ones of all time. Conan was not only an interesting guest, but his over commitment to the wings was hilarious and frankly, deserves alot of respect. I bet he was hiding alot of pain

I thought there was a video posted in the past couple days about how Conan developed as a host and interviewer over the years. I can't remember what it was titled, but I enjoyed watching it.

I watched in on Directv but no mention of Leon which I suppose would never happen and would be awkward to tali about on a NBC broadcast.

I think Conan hosting the Tonight Show and Fallon hosting the late show was the perfect combo but did not last long.

He was a talk show guest. He reminisced about being back at 30 Rock. Although when he was talking about Max Weinberg, I wondered how much of Fallon's audience knows who that is. He likes to be self-deprecating, so he told that airport selfie story that he has told on his podcast. He told that story about Prince that I have heard before, so that Jimmy could tell his story about Prince that I have heard before. And he promoted his new show on Max. He wasn't there to bitch about how NBC treated him, even though that would have been much more interesting TV.

It can also be the stress of dealing with the death. Carrie Fisher's mom Debbie Reynolds died of a stroke the day after Carrie died.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carrie_Fisher#Death

On January 5, 2017, a joint private memorial was held for Fisher and Reynolds. Fisher was cremated while her mother was entombed. A portion of her ashes was placed beside Reynolds in a crypt at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Hollywood Hills.[157] The remainder of those ashes are held in a giant novelty Prozac pill

That's love. I'd expect my wife of 66 years to be happy when I croak.

As I understand, both of his parents were accomplished in their fields (his mom was one of the original female lawyers, his dad was a scientist). I've gotten bits over the years from his podcast.

With the best for Conan. His podcast has been top notch. Way better than the little 8 minute interviews we'd get from late night tv.

Conan's longtime assistant, Sona, lived in Altadena and lost her home in the fire. Lots of people knew where she lived because Conan always ragged on Altadena and they even did some podcasts from her backyard. Conan's Pacific Palisades home survived but obviously he knows a ton of people who lost their homes.

In any case, here's the first podcast they did after the fires:

I'll listen to that eventually, but it will be very sad. Sona and Conan's chemistry is great entertainment.
