By djariya at 2010-09-12
Synopsis:
Spoiler:
** There is no double header today on CBS. 2 regional games are scheduled at 4:05pm ET. If your in the East and happen to be getting the Jets/Broncos game on your affiliate, pad just in case the game runs long. I know this is beating a dead horse every week. ***

A number of big ET/CT markets have a late CBS game: NYC, ATL, NO, CHI, DET to name a few.

Thank goodness the Princeton nerds are out. I couldn't handle any more of their singing.

no way they could have continued ... Jonathan did 0 roadblocks and looked terrible in this physical challenge.
There has to be a trade off between no chance and way too easy because that was not even a speed bump.

I can't believe they got to the airport first and didn't try to find an earlier flight.

It's ironic how several teams sailed through this one without so much as a redo, while other teams couldn't even make it down the hill.
The biggest surprise to me this episode was seeing the starting times for each team. While the editing (as usual) made it seem like all the teams were so close at the end of the last episode, the starting times revealed a three hour window all the teams arrived in....and almost all teams were at least 15 minutes apart.

And not sure why Kevin didn't take off his jacket and sit on that for padding?

Maybe, but didn't the duo have to do a little extra travel time to get to that bus? I can't remember but having the speed bump right there were you get the clue and not having to even go anywhere extra for your massive 10 minute penalty is pretty lame and tame.

No, as I remember it, the bus was just down the block.

The "speed bump" was more than ridiculous. Maybe they expected the team to have a harder time with it?

I guess it had a lot to do with location, in trying to come up with new and different places, there wasn't going to be much there. I still think that treating the speed bump like a YIELD or U-Turn works a lot better as a penalty.
A 5 minute sauna bus ride with hot chicks is not a penalty.

The "idea" of the speed bump is a good one. Theoretically, the team is already in last place, so they MUST hustle to not get eliminated--and sometimes they're a good deal behind. With the speed bump adding even 10 minutes, it could really screw a team up.
The problem is that TAR almost always bunches the teams up following a non-elimination, thus making the speed bump not that big of a deal. Add to it the fact that this team was smart enough to book an earlier flight and get a couple hours ahead of half the teams, and it's very non-eventful.
But again, the "idea" of the speed bump is a good one--better than making them beg for money IMO. We've all seen times when a 10-minute screw-up breaks a team at the finish line.

I hope there's a candle-lah-brah in next week's episode.
I'm going to miss the nerds. They would have been fun in a threesome.

I was fine with the speedbump. If they hadn't been on the first flight, it may have actually made a difference. Plus, they were smart enough to look for an earlier flight, so they deserve to stick around at least one more leg.

Fun episode, but that was the lamest speed bump ever. Michael and Kevin got really lucky.
I was so hard every time the dorks from Princeton kept crashing on that sled.
So far I really like Gary and Mallory, Brook and Claire.. Although why did Brook have to mention she has a fiancee? Preferred that keep the illusion that she's a hot young single girl.
And I also like Nat and Kat.
Even though Katie and Rachel are hot, they shown absolutely no personality at all. I'm sure they are really cool chicks, but the editing is really not making me root for them.
As some of you already mentioned, best part of the episode was when Nick asked the Ghana Taxi driver to take them to the Artic Circle.
