Synopsis:

Spoiler:
Dean Pelton (Jim Rash) decides that Greendale Community College must have its own flight simulator and cannot be bested by the competition, "City College," which is planning its own flight simulator. He enlists the study group to clean and refurbish the Greendale Community College simulator. As Jeff (Joel McHale), Pierce (Chevy Chase), Britta (Gillian Jacobs), Annie (Alison Brie), Shirley (Yvette Nicole Brown) and Troy (Donald Glover) wash the tattered simulator down, they end up accidentally launching it sending everyone on an unexpected journey into "outer space." Abed (Danny Pudi) is left behind to try and navigate a safe "return" for everyone.

flight simulator? This should be good.

As much as I like BBT (and I do), there is something profoundly wrong with the world when that show has over twice the audience of this one.

NBC has been in the toilet for so long, people are just conditioned to watch anything but.

Oddly, most of the shows I'm watching this season seem to be on NBC.

Sanders

Why are there truck stops and public restrooms circled? Why do they have star ratings?
They're over here, by the truck stop with three thumbs.
Those aren't thumbs.

"There is a time for subtlety, and that time was before Scary Movie"

Love that this show does better spoofs than any of the spoof movies.

Re: Community -- "Basic Rocket Science" -- 10/14/10

Solid episode. Some really good lines and sight gags though.

Pierce: "You're all walking in slow motion?"

Troy: "How do you know it was our design? We submitted it anonymously. Whoops."

Troy: "I hate to pull rank on you..."

Chang walking in and saying he re-routed the power, then Abed asking from what and Chang slowly backing away.

Troy: "Yeah, let's kill her." And then him getting ready to strangle Annie with the radio cord.

But by far, the best line of the entire episode...

Abed (to the Dean): "Why are there circles around the public bathrooms and truckstops? And why are there star ratings?"

Wow, this episode had me dying! The KFC placement throughout the episode was awesome! So many funny moments...especially with the dean!

We need a gif of Annie running in slow-mo!

Did everybody notice that Abed was in an astronaut uniform this episode? Just wanted to make sure everyone was keeping up this week.

So good, it's tragic that Big Bang is crushing this show.

It's smart that the writers never set any kind of precedent for realism so they can get away with just about anything as long as it's funny.

I thought this was the first episode of this season that was up to par with last season. I haven't been as impressed with the start to the new season until tonight's, which was in my opinion far and away funnier than the first two episodes.

It's interesting. It's almost the same thing this season as last season - Slow start, then after a few episodes they get rolling. This was a great episode - Everything clicked.

If I could use an avatar, I'd use the Greendale 'butt flag'.

Community has been a mix of zany episodes and grounded episodes, I think they've done a pretty solid job of balancing the two. This is the first truly zany episode of the season. But I agree, I was apprehensive with the episode when I read the synopsis, but they really hit it out of the park.

I LOL'd at the opening when they mentioned a race to being the first school with a space simulator, then they show the rival school and their initials were CCCP.

Loved this episode, brilliant from start to finish... Troy got all the great lines. I'm still smiling thinking about the Scary Movie one

I liked how the dean of the rival school was just a black version of Greendale's dean

I loved last night's episode and Pierce's space freak out was hilarious. I also cracked up when Jeff said:"Is anyone feeling skinny" and Troy raised his hand behind Annie. The dean of the rival school was hilarious how he taunted Dean Pelton. I also cracked up laughing at Troy randomly hugging some girl and Britta going around high fiving people. I hope that the

It was hilarious how when he was whispering taunts in the Greendale Dean's ear, he began to swoon.

This line hasn't got much mention, but I absolutely loved when Abed asked where they were followed by Troy's "It looks like we're 40 light years from the Buttermilk Nebula... oh wait, I think it's a sticker, yeah, it is"

Yeah, that was a great line; really enjoyed this episode and I liked the Congratulation splash with the 8-bit fireworks and MIDI song.

Actually the line was "We are 40 lightyears outside of the Buttermilk Nebula... although it is possible... yeah, it's a sticker".

What made it funny was his delivery of the "yeah, it's a sticker" line.

Abed returning to the empty parking lot in his space suit and then slowly looking up at the sky for the simulator.
