The Simpsons -- "Loan-a-Lisa" -- 10/03/10

Synopsis:

Spoiler:
Lisa invests in Nelson's new business, which becomes an instant success, but cautions him against dropping out of school as a result. Nobel Peace Prize winner Muhammad Yunus and Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg have voice cameos as themselves.

I don't really watch the Simpsons, but since LorenzoL is MIA, here is something pretty basic for you all to chit chat away. Enjoy!!

I really try to enjoy watching The Simpsons, but this was just another episode I didn't find myself laughing.

Yeah, nothing exceptional with this week's episode. Season has been strictly "meh" thus far.

Both Grandpa giving the family money/inheritance and Marge buying something she can't afford were done before. But I guess they twisted things around enough so it wasn't too big a regurgitation.

I laughed a few times - mostly at the Nelson stuff.

How come the Simpsons don't try to be clever as they were before?

Skinner and Chalmers hearing Nelson was paying $11 an hour was pretty funny, the rest was meh.

Jesse Eisenberg does a better Mark Zuckerberg than whoever they got to do it for this episode.

Agreed ... Lisa stories start out with strikes against them.

Homer's line:
"Well it's A cat but not necessarily THE cat."
cracked me up for some reason.

I believe that WAS Mark Zuckerberg. A decent episode, but I've seen funnier. I wish the writers would take the show back to doing one story per episode instead of two. Now that you've got me thinking about it, did Marge & Homer's storyline get wrapped up? The last thing I remember from it was (not sure if this needs spoilers, but I'm putting them in anyways)
Spoiler:
Homer taking the merchandise back to the store,
then it seemed like the rest of the episode focused on Lisa.

These two mediocre episodes do not paint a pretty picture for this season.
